Looks good I have a question after you do the few highlights and such do you still Glaze/Ink it to make the highlighting blend smoother?

Throw enough Goblins at anything and it should go away, at the very least there will be less Goblins.

What does Eric Clapton and Coffee have in common? Both suck without Cream.

Awesome manhunter. I've got to get to work painting my own Khador first 500, which looks amazingly like your army list.

I'm kind of worried on getting the fur on the hat and such to look right, but I guess inking + drybrushing some should get me there, I hope.

Still, gorgeous job. And you're a better man than me for replacing the pikes w/ Brass Rod, I just bent em straight and swear I'll be careful....I don't see this ending well for me.

Thanks! And absolutely yes. I use Reaper Master Series paints, and am a sucker for their triad system. For the Manhunter's skin, I based it Tanned Skin then added thinned-paint highlights of Tanned Highlight, Fair Skin, Fair Highlight and a tiny bit of Pure White. I then mixed up a glaze with my Future Floor wash medium and Tanned Shadow with a touch of Brown Liner (super-high-pigment Reaper stuff). I painted the glaze thinly and evenly over all the layers, and then painted it like a wash into the crevices (I like doing this because I'm lazy). I then added more Brown Liner to the mix and painted a little into the deepest areas.

I used the same technique for his pants and his coat. It's super-easy and makes simple highlights look super-plus-better. The glaze will darken everything down, however, so you have to highlight quite starkly right up to pure white (it looks like trash before the glaze goes on).

You can see some pics of the pre-glaze highlights in my WIP thread.

Thanks VB. Still looking forward to seeing your stuff - my list looks like it's going to change due to model availability, but so it goes. I got in a game on the weekend against a Protectorate player who let me proxy-out my IFPs to a full unit. They all died horribly to Feora, but my Juggernaut did a number on his Avatar and Sorscha was able to Wind Rush - Pop Feat - Charge and kill Feora for the win.

But I digress... regarding the furry hat, there's nothing to it. Over the black basecoat, a heavy drybrush of dark grey followed my a lighter drybrush of medium grey followed by a really light drybrush (just the edges really) of almost-white-grey. The fur trim on his cloak was even more basic - just a drybrush of a warm off-white over a dark brown. The sculpt is excellent and makes it real easy.

I'll be interested to see how you handle the leather straps on his forearms - I'm not so happy with how mine turned out.

Regarding pikes... ugh, it's miserable work swapping them out. I sincerely hope yours never bend and I chewed up my palms on the end of a pin vice for nothing!
