Ok Ryan, first and foremost welcome to Dakka and it's always nice to see another member of the Emperor's most numerous. The main concern I see is your lack of anti-vehicle, now the autocannons can be a real threat to most light transport vehicles true enough and a plasma gun can do in a pinch (though it might roasty-toasty its wielder). You've got two tanks on the board that can cause some serious pain but the Demolisher is gonna be outranged by just about any other anti-tank in the game. Also you don't have very many troops, and let's be honest with our loyal guardsmen those twenty some-odd troopers are gonna be smashed, shot or blasted away in short order. Also if someone gets a weapon destroyed result on one of your tanks you don't have another anti-tank (like a hull mounted lascannon) to fall back on.

I think your army can definitely work, it just needs some revisions. I would recommend some more troops first off. If you're thinking of going the mechanized route (as seems to be all too popular these days) I'd drop the platoon and get some veterans in chimeras or valkyries. However, if you're going infantry with tank support you need to figure out what roles your infantry are gonna play. Now first off, your command squad.

What is their role? To sit back and rattle off orders? In that case the plasma is a good choice as a special weapon but I'd also recommend a lascannon or something else long range. If you're not going vehicle heavy I'd also recommend and anti-tank squad with lascannons (or missile launchers if you're feeling cheap) This way your officers can use the "bring it down" order if they're close.

If you want your troops to be a static firing line then give them a heavy weapon to make them more of a threat, conversely this will also make them a higher priority target.

There's lots of sniper rifles in your list, and while I like them they probably won't win you the game. I'd suggest using the 6 man sniper team's points to get the lascannons on your tanks or in your squads, just to get you a little more anti-tank in mech-heavy 5th ed.

Hope this helps.

I think Sandman covered alot of the bases but let me add some more thing
Yarrick, unless you are absolutely in love with him drop him. Not worth his points by any stretch of the imagination
Special weapon team, dump them and get three more ratlings. Ratlings are cheaper and better than special weapon squads. But hold on to the ratlngs I think they are one of the best units in the codex
And finally to reiterate what Sandman said is that you need more anti-tank. If your ork buddy has a battle wagon their is nothing in your list that can stop it until it gets within demolisher range. I would put hull lascannons on your two tanks, and a lascannon in all of your squads. I am a firm believer you can never have too many lascannons

-Any terrain containing Sly Marbo is dangerous terrain.
-Sly Marbo once played an objective mission just to see what it was like to not meet every victory condition on his own.
-Sly Marbo bought a third edition rulebook just to play meat grinder as the attacker.
-Marbo doesn't need an Eldar farseer as an ally; his enemies are already doomed
-Sly Marbo was originally armed with a power weapon, but he dropped it while assaulting a space marine command squad just so his enemies could feel pain
-Sly Marbo still attacks the front armor value in assault, for pity's sake.

As has been said by our illustrious Volkov, you can never have too many lascannons. Not only will they crush most of your opponents vehicles they can really ruin a space marine's day once you've annihilated his transport.

I've also got to second the Yarrick thing, he's cool fluff-wise but I'd never waste the points on him. Just look at him, he's a LRMBT or Manticore or just a few squads of guardsmen just in one little T3 package. Never worth it.

I’ve done some remodeling. I’m going to try the new build today and see how things work against my orc opponent. I’m still in the process of gathering more models and taking more of your advice, but this is as far as I have gotten so far.

Company command (80pts)
Vox, power weapon, plasma gun

Platoon command (45pts)
Vox, power weapon,

Infantry Squad 1 (70pts)
Vox, plasma gun

Infantry Squad 2 (70pts)
Vox, plasma gun

Special weapons team (50pts)
3x snipers

Heavy weapons team (100pts)
2x lascannon, 1x autocannon

Rattling (100pts)
10x units

Ogryn’s (130)
3x units

Lemmon Russ executioner (210pts)
Sponsons bolters

Lemmon Russ tank (170pts)
Sponsons bolters

Griffon mortar (85pts)
Pintle bolter

Lemmon Russ tank (185pts)
Lascannon

Marbo (65pts)

Total - 1340

Veteran units are my next step as well as getting another heavy weapons team built (copying my old one). At the moment I want to field more troops than tanks, but my plan is to be able to field either one by leaving myself with many unit choices. Thank you for the help everybody, I hope to post again soon.

I would specialize your heavy weapon squads rather than having an autocannon in with your Lascannons. For instance if your opponent has a landraider you're gonna need those lascannons to fire on him but that autocannon isn't even gonna scratch the paint.

Likewise if there is a rhino or chimera or ork trukk barreling towards your position those autocannons can wreck their day but the lascannons are a little overkill and better used against tanks or other hard targets.

Just my 2 cents.
