Well... back in August I went ahead and sprung for the collectors edition of Deathwatch. I had missed out on the ones for Dark Heresy and Rogue Trader due to a lack of funds and getting there too late for either of those. This one though was the one out of the three I was most interested in when they were announced so long ago and after some fence sitting I finally decided to go for it as my birthday gift to myself. It finally came in late yesterday. I must say that this is a very nice presentation. It is somewhat impractical for actual gaming use but it looks cool as all hell. Here are some pics of it.

Front of the case. This thing is heavy... over 10 pounds.

Case spine...

The Librarian's Key that locks it together. It has magnets on the back to hold it in place.

The case folded open.

The apocryphal oath with purity seals.

The personalized bit with the name I chose... Sanguinary Priest Israfil of the Blood Angels. The added Brother to the front of it which I did not put... mush have been a formatting thing on their part. The name comes from the angel of healing in Islam...

The book itself held down. The leather strap is closed with Velcro. The book is leather bound with silver gilt edges and printed on parchment style paper. It has a matte finish as opposed to the high gloss of the standard edition. It is also about half the weight.

Speaks for itself really. The first 1500 had the personalization like I got above. They also did a run of 500 without the personalization.

Yeah at $200.00 it was rather expensive, but I have something that is totally awesome from a fan perspective. It already looks great taking up a lot of space on my shelf.

I play...

Very nice - and thanks for the pics!

I couldn't afford/justify getting one, so it is nice to see what I missed out on...

the Mothership...

i feel like you should have some audio for the thread, like halo monks singing or the quoir in space marine playing during the thread. the presentation is very nice on FFG's part, albeit pricey.

Very freaking cool. And a future collectors item. Keep it in good condition and you'll be the envy of many a player/GM.
