I can't see the point in the crusaders myself. A 3++ is nice, but they're only T3 and'll still get wiped by any competent shooty/cc unit. You could free up enough points for another unit by dropping them.

I just really concerned about their ability sit on objectives. I really need to be playing games to really start to get a feel for it, theory hammer has a lot of limits...

They'll never be strong objective holders unless you invest a crap-ton of points, to get around that just take more squads. Also Grand strategy should help you out here.
