My other threads have gotten jumbled up with dead links. With a new year coming up fast I thought I'd get a fresh start with a new WIP log.

As always I welcome honest feedback, so if you have suggestions or plain just hate a model just say so.

Revised Chitin blades

New WIP version on the left, older on the right.

Better? Worse? Meh?

For fun and 3D practice I did some Battletech / Macross mechs and had them printed

They are about 5% larger than the old CBT models, which I like as it gives them a bit more bulk.
(Grey mechs on the left are the old Battletech models). New versions are 45-48mm tall.

Got Robotech?

I just finished up casting these custom bad boys

These are in battletech scale, the Zentraedi pod is 70mm tall & 20 parts!

Rather than clutter things up on here I put up other pics in my blog: http://www.mechdudesblog.blogspot.com/

Do you get them rapid prototyped then add detail and then cast? Would just like to know process, as I've had a little experience with Maya and was wondering if it's the route to take. . .

Yes, I have them rapid prototyped first. The prototyped pieces I clean up and use as masters for casting in resin.

I've been working on designing a game based off the Robotech/Macross series which is part of why I've been doing my various minis. I could use some opinions on the game and if you're up for it some playtest data. Once it's polished up a bit it'll be going in for review with HG and if they ok it I'll be producing minis under lisc.

I've made the rules available here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6bjnbqqn8hzpea8

This is still the first draft so feel free to point out mistakes or if stuff is missing. I don't mind criticism as long as it's helpful

I'll be doing all sorts of nice graphics and what not as I get this a bit more

It's been a while since I messed around with any 3d stuff and got the bug again today so I started tinkering with some more weapon parts.

I'm thinking this would serve as a dual plasma launcher. Any thoughts on the design?

Other versions of the barrel tips, let me know which you prefer.

Here's some heads I'm tinkering with (Lotta Gundam style love on these) I'm planning on roughing out some feet and a jet pack tomorrow.

Started tinkering with a torso, it's still in the rough stage so comments are welcome.

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I narrowed the torso down and started adding a backpack. This would be for a heavier ground based version that are being nicknamed "fatboys", I'll also be making a flight capable version equipped with jet pack.

I added some of the weapons I currently have on my site for reference of how it'll look with them equipped.

I like it. The calves seem a touch thick to me but that is just nit picking really. Very nice.

I said this on another forum, but I thinkt hat is pretty close to the way a Broadside should look.

Have a little more room to fit a pilot in in the main body and it'd be just about perfect.

Something of a personal project, won't be for sale.

It's still a very early WIP, more detailing after I get all the rough work out of the way. Will be aprox 28mm scale when printed.

Any chance of a VERY long barrel version (i.e. hammerhead sized)?

I've been working on some samurai style sashimono banners.

These are the roughs, I'm curious to see what feedback you guys have on the number of ties, or the futuristic style vs historical. Also plain banner material or with detail added to it?

More ties

Less ties
