The Lycaon Brotherhood have discovered who it is that is abducting and experimenting on their pack-members in "St Jude's Asylum for the hopelessly mad." Hearing that another Were-wolf from the Leonberger Family (Jean's faction) has been captured they decide this is the perfect opportunity to catch the dastardly Dark Masons un-aware.

The scene is night-time in murky, congested London, the year of our Lord 1888.

A dark ritual proceeds involving the captured Were-wolf.

In the far corner of the table (we rolled 4-corner deployment) the President and evil mastermind of theDark Masons - Koert De Weerdt - arrives to check on the progress. He is escorted by the Dark Masons' Secretary of Defense in his infernium powered steam gyrocopter, as well as some of the membership.

Unbeknownst to the arcanists, the Brotherhood approach from both north and west at full run. The Brotherhood are determined to eliminate the ritualists before they can be joined by their incoming reinforcements. Some pack-members fall behind as their old wounds slow them down.

Darkness protects the Brotherhood from the longer ranged weapons of the Dark Masons. Even nature frowns upon their twisted deeds.

Hearing the wolfen howls, the Dark Masons abort their ritual and take firing positions.

Shots ring out in the dark and three Brotherhood are wounded. Again the Dark Masons are punished for their deeds as all three are mere flesh-wounds. The curses of the Dark Masons' President can be heard echoing over the scene as if from on high.

The Secretary of Defense and his damnable gyrocopter flies from roof-top to roof-top. Impervious to melee attacks he rains down gun-fire, causing the first casualty of the fracas.

A lone crippled Wolf-skin watches over the main boulevard approach with his trusty cross-bow. Weak and old, the pack no longer exerts their strength protecting him and he is now considered disposable.

With melee joined and only half of the Dark Masons forces facing the might of the Brotherhood, casulaties quickly mount up for the Masons.

Greed and an evil nature impel the Dark Masons' President to take one last shot at a Wolf-skin. She falls, a casualty, but Koert De Weerdt has miscalculated badly...

The President had thought himself safely out of sight, behind cover, and determined to retreat once an on-going combat in the south ended in the Wolves favour (Will needed one more of his guys casualtied or down to allow him to retreat - he had the necessary guy trapped in combat with one of my guys, with a werewolf ready to join in. He decided to get in one last shot.)

Fortunately the dastardly President had not counted on the pocket-periscopes the Brotherhood had bought on a recent journey to re-supply in London. Truely a wonderous invention the pocket-periscope through the magic of mirrors and reflection allows its owner to look around corners and over walls. Stefan the wolf-skin could see the President and thus could charge him. Thus was the President locked in combat and unable to flee.

Vaklav the Were-wolf watched the other fight in the South and decided not to intervene. He never really liked 'Olaf the Disfigured' anyway, he had no bravado. (I made a calculated decision not to charge the were-wolf in to the fight to the south as if I got a casulty/down then Will would be able to disappear/retreat next turn and I really wanted to eat his President!)

Olaf the Disfigured went down to a pistol shot but Koert De Weerdt could not extricate himself from combat with Stefan in time and Krom the Were-wolf Beast-Lord joined the fray! Black anger over what the Dark Masons had done to his pack drove Krom to heights of viciousness and nothing but the death of Koert De Weerdt could sate him. (I killed Will's President. A great trade for a minor injury on Olaf!)

As a final act, Vaklav swatted the ritualist who had injured Olaf, and the remaining Dark Masons fled. (I spent an influence to turn a down - 7 - result into an 8 - casualty result on the ritualist. It cost me 5 Schillings and got Will an extra +30 on the injury roll compared to just being down. Money well spent, Will agreed

A very fun game, if Will hadn't rolled so woefully on his shooting it would have brunted the numbers of models I could bring to bear on him in melee which might have made a big difference. As it was with only one guy going down to gun-fire before melee began, I was in a great position. Night time and corner deployments were also very helpful. His poxy gyrocopter is a torment - I only have 1 crossbow, 1 bow and 1 throwing weapons for ranged support so it was almost immune to me when flitting from roof to roof It was quite funny!
