I look forward to it. Here's hoping that fire type doesn't become Fire/Fighting AGAIN.

Im pretty excited. Ive been waiting for a Pokemon game like this since Shadow Colosseum. Bought frigging time Nintendo made a Pokemon game with current graphics.....well.....closer to anyways.
Pokemon X and Y sounds like the name of a porno parody.
That aside, looks not terrible. Could be good. Won't be buying unless they tone down the offensive metagame/power creep though. 5th generation was ridiculous with that.
It's always been that way though, the only way to avoid it is to do online play early on before everyone gets around to EV training. Since this will be the first time it's had a global release there won't be any head starts.
Black and White is just way more offensive than previous generations. Granted, they've been getting more and more sweeper happy as generations went on, but now it's just getting silly.
It's like every generation's sweepers keep growing to completely outdo the last generation's, and in doing so, completely trash every single wall on the way.
I preferred the offensive/defensive balance of third gen. Although 4th gen has the best gameplay mechanics.
For the record, I'm one of those guys who made max stat pokemon. My issue isn't with the min/maxing, my issue is with the game balance itself.

I haven't seen it yet, but did the b2/w2 Ditto end up working out in the end? Seemed like an ability it should have had the whole time instead of stuff like limber...
He's still NU in B/W. Aside from the serious pimping that's always been the norm, it looks like he can work as a decent revenge/scout pokemon. That said, at the end of the day, he still only has 48 HP. The rule seems to be that you just stick him with a choice scarf, and switch in on something like a 600 Dragon.

Is that worse than the Icecream pokemon "Vanillite"?
As soon as I saw the ice cream cone pokemon, I stopped playing that one and went to do another play through Red.
GW Rules Interpretation Syndrom. GWRIS. Causes people to second guess a rule in a book because that's what they would have had to do in a GW system.

Ah k, so I guess when he got bumped up to uber for being a "game changer" it was probably for a week at most.
Dr. What wrote: Garchomps were bad, but Arons with endeavor/quick attack , holding leftovers, and having Sturdy were the WORST!.
Not a particularly potent strategy. At the end of the day, you're still going 1 for 1 with a pokemon that can't support its team in any other way. It's also completely screwed over by hail, ghost pokemon, any rapid hit move (so cloyster does not give a gak), and any Pokemon with Mold Breaker.

Well, no. He can compete in any tier, thanks to the fact that what he does can be applied to damn near anything. He's one of the best revenge killers you'll get. But he's completely one-dimensional in his utility, and his low HP makes him incredibly reliant on choice scarf to get anything done, which means he'll only ever be good for one thing. So just make sure you don't build up a tonne of buffs beforehand (Imposter copies buffs, and you do not want to give a CS Ditto 2 dragon dances), and you can handle him like any other CS pokemon. The only difference is that you know what moves are available, and thus exactly what to send in to make sure that Ditto won't make itself useful.

I liked how Smeargle could be used like Ditto, but for egg moves.
So anyone have an ideas what types the starters could be in their final forms? It's just some fun guessing at the moment since we have nothing to go on yet. I'd like to see an electric fire starter.
Froakie will look nothing like a frog, just look at Oshawat's final evelution, I mean, WTF is it anyway? Otter->BA Otter->WTF?
Fenekin, in true fire-type form, will turn from incredibally cute to incredibaly BA, or it will turn into another Tepig, cute->BA->Ugly as all feth. I'm hoping it will be a mixture of Zoroak and Ninetails. EDIT: Better not be another Fire/Fighting either... 3 of them in a row? Seriously Nitendo???
I'm unsure about Chespin, though. I'm hoping it turns out BA, though. It looks cool.
Automatically Appended Next Post: One thing is for sure, though, I need to get a 3DS

That fire-type almost definately used a Psychic-type move- I predict fire/psychic, grass/fighting, water/dark.
