Took me a while, but I got him done! Got a little
OSL practice and I'm happy with it. I tried to make him look like a redhead that was going white, which was not easy but I think I've achieved it. I tried originally to do more intricate tattoos with wolf heads on either side of his head, but my hand is not steady enough, nor my brush fine enough so it came out as just a series of triangles. The rest of my army has similar tattoos of swirls, lines, and runes so it matches the overall aesthetic. Although he's described as having no more room for tattoos, I didn't want his face to appear as a blue blob on the game table. I've also gone back and added a gloss coat to the mount's nose, and teeth, as well as the blood around the Thousand Son's head. He is much bulkier and more imposing than the
GW models, and I think fits the fluff description more. I would have used this model for my
TWC, but wanted him to stand out. As it is, the
GW TWC models come up to just about the bottom of the mount's bicep. The base has become one of my favorites. What do you guys think?
