I'm looking for some help with my Space Wolves to come up with a TAC list that can also deal with triple riptide spam. It's single force org no allies no FW.

So my friends and I are going to play a friendly tournament in July for a friends birthday bash. Being that we are all friends the idea was that we'd take friendly lists... Well enter the TFG friend who plays tau and is going to bring three riptides(he's done it in 1k point games too so I have no doubt he's doing it here) in our friendly 1500 tournament.

Any C&C is appreciated on this list... Oh and this is the scenarios for the tourney...

The Twilight Zone

As space wolves, you are in luck to hunt riptides, as you can use jaws to pull them off of the table. Anytime it connects(power goes off, no deny) it will work 2 of 3 times so you should be able to get rid of them in one fell swoop. If you are dealing with triple tides, that is a lot of points right there and the rest of your army will put the hurt on them.

Not sure you need fists on your WG termis, depends on who you are expecting. Power swords and axes should cover it.

The CML terminator would be best with more missile fangs, so consider getting a 3 ML 2 lascannon squad for 2 squads, and just have the 5 heavy bolter squad all on their own.

The list is tournament worthy, but by no means TFG. You should hold your own just fine though.

Also, I love these scenarios...I think that I will be using them in my local group!

The most important rule of 40K-Page XVII of the 6th edition rulebook, the figure at the top right of the page. "Shake hands with your opponent and thank them for a good battle and fun experience." Then go out for a beer.

Well as far as the terminators go my plan is that they pod in with the rune priest to be bullet sponges then priest ideally kills a riptide + other stuff and next turn if they are still alive they can get stuck in and start causing havoc...

Though you do make a good point with the fists if I drop those and I downgrade one long dang squad to ml then I can throw in an aegis defense line with Icarus cannon...

If you invest in more troops when down grading your fangs you might be able to take advantage of the fact that at 1500 points if he takes 3 riptides he'll be low on troops unless that's all he invested in. In the case of the latter scenerio you may have a problem. Does he play with a lot of fire warriors or kroot?

I like the list, as well as the idea of adding the Aegis, though I am personally not a fan of the fortifications. Also I might look into mixing in missile launchers and heavy bolters to the Long Fangs, of course the Lascannons will be crutial to taking out the Riptides and whatever else may be lurking, the Runepriests will also help, plus you will have the Cyclone, but having other weapons may allow a good crossfire into infantry, if there ends up being more than you think.

I prefer keeping the heavy weapons teams with the same weapons... I think i have got a great little mix here. I do find myself wishing for more troops but I'm not sure where to find the points...
