I heard about this too, the only thing that isn't confirmed is whether the Supplement will be for C:SM or CSM

T'would appear to be the first that most people are hearing of it.

I'm sure it'd please a fair few people if there was such a book.

As there does appear to be something of a dearth of news relating to this at the moment I'll move this to the 40k general board. Guess people can speculate a while upon this issue then.

As/when/if there's any further or more solid info we'll have a thread in the news/rumours board.

Thanks to the OP for the time and effort

It is a rumour. By a new source. What's the problem?
Supplements will come and Chaos legions are a likely candidate, so it is not completely unbelievable.

@lost_soul: Please go on posting rumours, even if other people like to discourage you. Every rumour poster startes getting beaten badly, even Harry (when he predicted a High Elf chariot drawn by white lions)

It's also a classic surf song that was used to good effect in Full Metal Jacket, which is an excellent film that everyone here should be familiar with.

Oooooooohhhhhh...

... sneaky.

In all seriousness, though, what would even be in an alpha legion supplement? You already have access to infiltration (huron, etc.), and you already have access to cultists, which were pretty much what set alpha legion apart.

I've just realised - I know nothing of the Alpha Legion post heresy - what have they done since 30k that could be referenced in the supplement?

Before anyways, nowadays I figure it'd be like the old Altoic rules, whereupon you'd have special rules to screw with the enemy, not to mention things like well trained cultists (BS4 or WS4 I suppose), ability to infiltrate units without needing a SC. (Yes because Huron is really Alpha Legion. ).

And finally we'd actually get FLUFF about Alpha Legion, because by god they really, really do need it by now as it is the legion with less fluff then even Black Legion. At this point the old rules might not even apply considering now they infiltrate actual space marine groups from within and begin to filter things out in a manner outside combat.

Before it used to be cultist bombers with skilled and dedicated followers that fought well in combat, while sneaking around and infiltrating everywhere.

I reckon GW could come out with one, it would be a nice touch.

A cool rule would be something like any footslogging infantry with an initiative lower than 3 that were in base contact with cultists could be brainwashed on the roll of 5+ or something

Well, they've managed to apply mind control to two different SM chapters and loot their geneseed and even established battle brothers. A Lord Inquisitor hunted down a high placed AL operative, fought him in a duel, killed him, and then was killed by about a half dozen hidden AL operatives, who then substituted one of their own as the Lord Inquisitor. So... at least one very well regarded Inquisitor is actually a AL operative, the Siege of Vrakks was kicked off by an AL marine pulling the strings, and two separate SM chapters no longer exist and were wiped out without the use of virus bombs, daemon princes, or orbital strikes.

Oh, and when subverting the scout company and raw recruits of the Crimson Consuls, the AL marine also continued to play regicide with the Chapter Master the whole time, and the day that he set off the psycho-conditioned trigger to make the entire scout company go homicidal on loyalists he also sent in his final move. It was, and I quote
...Borachio had beaten him. "Blind Man's Mate...' the Chapter Master mouthed.
"Excuse me, my lord?" Narke asked.
"No disrespect intended,' Artegall told the astropath. 'It's a form of victory in regicide, so called because you do not see it coming.'

Alpha Legion: No one knows jack-diddly about them. Even fewer know about Omegon.
Alpha Legion: Using the entire Dark Vengeance starter set. If it's got a geneseed and power armour, it's fair game.

Everything.

Age of Apostasy? Vandire was actually an Alpha Legion plant. So was Alicia Dominica.

Black Crusades 1 through 13? Engineered by the Alpha Legion. Also fought by the Alpha Legion. On both sides.

Damocles Crusade? Launched, executed and then redirected by the Alpha Legion.

Also, the Tau are the Alpha Legion. All of them. Including Farsight. And his swords. Shadowsun, too.
