just started a new project and I'm quite excited about it so you get the spams, sorry.
I'm building Angron, post bad hair day. I got the idea (and I know its not a new idea) after reading The Emperor's Gift.
I had a look at a lot of Angrons online, some tragic, some not bad and one or two magnificent but saw none based on the body I wanted to use...The Slaughterbrute.
Other than the FW Bloodthirster and its hefty price tag this was the only body I thought had the right sort of size and muscle.
I've also been looking for base bodies for his Cruor Praetoria (12 Bloodthirster bodyguard) so maybe I'll do some of them too.
anyway...Angron so far

that's the basic shape, apart from the wings. still a load of hair and armour to go but its coming along.

This is a really great idea, and it looks like your sculpting skills are up to the task!

And find a suitibky huge axe, nice n brutal.

This should be pretty good, I opened this thread expecting the FW model and may end up seeing something even more epic. I'll be following this.

Looking good only thing is the stomach looks off. It is to big and bulbous kinda looks like a growth "nurgle style" you may need to get the width you need for the waste out of the back asswell. Kinda looks like he has a hernia. Swollen belly and snapped in back.

After taking a couple of minutes I think the easiest thing to do is cut the legs and re-position the hips, they are leaning forward and causing your problem I think.

He looks angry and accurate to the art. Great job!

quick update for you.

I need a way to do rivets on plastic card. I made a tool and can do green stuff on green stuff but tiny GS rivets don't stick to plastic card very well. any ideas?

Khorne damn, that's a big axe!

You could get a small hole-puncher kind of thing and use it on a sheet of plasticard. One of my friends at school used to do it, but at the time I didn't even know what plasticard was, so I can't really get into any details.

Coming along nicely! I really like the inclusion of the bits from the skull cannon of khorne! Excellent additions!

The first base just wasn't epic enough (or big enough) so I made another.

OK that base is pretty epic, the unlucky marine just needs a hand or bolter maybe broken across his chest,

Superglue. Make the rivets by cutting plasticard rods (you get the biggest amount from big outdoor-pushbrooms, their bristles are 1mm thick plastic rods). Pick the rivets up with the tip of a scalpel or similar, dab into a drop of superglue and stick on.

Broom bristle...genius.
in the end I ruffed up the surface and mixed green stuff, yellow dominant. seems to work

Looks fantastic but I'm afraid I'm not taken in by the head, I suppose I still imagined it to be a little more...human.

Also the body and legs don't seem to have the bulk I imagined.

However the modelling skills are brilliant!

It's based off the image below, which was itself (as far as I can tell) inspired by the butcher's nails. Khorne seems to have mutated them well beyond normal, as a symbol of the Warrior's aspect.
