I have an upcoming game with a Dark Eldar Player. Nothing serious,he just finally reached 1,000 points. I though I would experiment with something I have been Theory-Hammering with and try some Razorback SPAM.

The Theory-Hammer is around Bare-Bones Powered Armored Wolf Guard in place of Grey Hunters or Blood Claws. I went for the Company of the Great Wolf Detachment for the free WS5.
Tactical I was not planning on Assaulting, but relying on Counter Attack once I got close. This is part of the reason for the indecision on going with Chain Swords or Bolt Guns.

Company of the Great Wolf Detachment (1000 pts)
Wolf Lord in Power Armor, 140 pts (Bolt Pistol; Krakenbone Sword; Warlord)

Rune Priest in Power Armor, 105 pts (Bolt Pistol; Runic Sword; Melta Bombs; Fellclaw's Teeth; Psyker {Mastery Level 2})

Wolf Guard #1, 175 pts
>Wolf Guard Pack Leader (Bolt Pistol, Combi-Plasma)
>4 Wolf Guard (Bolt Pistol; Chainsword or Bolt Gun)
>Razorback (Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter; Dozer Blade; Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter; Extra Armor)

Wolf Guard #2, 195 pts
>Wolf Guard Pack Leader (Bolt Pistol; Combi-Plasma)
>4 Wolf Guard (Bolt Pistol; Chainsword or Bolt Gun)
>Razorback (Twin-Linked Assault Cannon; Dozer Blade; Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter; Extra Armour)

Wolf Guard #3, 190 pts
>Wolf Guard Pack Leader (Bolt Pistol; Combi-Plasma)
>4 Wolf Guard (Bolt Pistol; Chainsword or Bolt Gun)
>Razorback (Twin-Linked Las-Cannon; Dozer Blade; Extra Armor)

Wolf Guard #4, 195 pts
>Wolf Guard Pack Leader (Bolt Pistol; Combi-Plasma)
>4 Wolf Guard (Bolt Pistol; Chainsword or Bolt Gun)
>Razorback (Las-Cannon and TL Plasma Gun; Dozer Blade; Pintle-mounted Storm Bolter; Extra Armor)

Please let me know what you think.

I am a Furry that plays with little Toy Soldiers; if you are taking me too seriously I am not the only one with Issues.

After chatting with some others I think I am going to go with Bolt Pistol/Bolt Guns on the PA Wolf Guard.

I'd agree, with Counter-Attack you still get an extra attack where others don't with the added benefit of rapid firing bolters in overwatch.

Plus both HQ's can handle themselves reasonably well in CC.

My only hesitation would be the Razorbacks' main weapons but that's only because I've never played or even have any mates that play Dark Eldar so my knowledge of them is next to nothing so I'm not sure what types of anti-armour or armour capabilities they have that I'd feel I needed to focus on.

Well the Razorbacks are WYSIWYG. they is why the odd mix and I don't have much experience myself using the.
Twin-Linked Heavy Bolter: Well Raiders are only AV10 so even the Heavy Bolter will do the job. This one was also Cheap.
Twin-Linked Assault-Cannon: These I know what they can do from my Stormraven. They should do well vs AV 10.
Twin-Linked Las-Cannon: I m using a Sponsor-Less Predator as Proxy for it, though the Las-Cannon Should Pen Easy.
Las-Plas: Never used one, though as plan to get in close the Twin-Linked Plasma-Gun should do horrible things. With my Plasma armed Grey Hunters usualy kill a Raider a Turn so I think it will be the same with the Las-Cannon as a back up.

In a thousand point battle, I'm curious as to how many raiders your opponent can fit in his army. This could be pretty devastating if you pop his ships with las/plas and then mow his troops down with HB and AC fire.

I'm looking forward to hearing how the PA WG hold up and if they're worth it.

Well I am going to be facing Dark Eldar.

I have built a 1k list with a pair of Land Raiders, but I would not pull that one out for a new player.

Well the game happen last night with mixed results. I ended up using variant that add one more Wolf Guard Pack and Traded out the 4 Razorbacks for 5 Drop Pods. I did go with Bolt Gun/Bolt Pistol Combo.

Well I would have done much better, but I could not inflict Penetrating Shots, I inflicted more Hull Points from Massed Bolter Fire than with my Plasma Shots. For the first two turns I could not Make a Save, which was countered with the Dark Eldar bad rolling, during the whole game hit twice with his Dark Lances.

Now that we got done with the Nights Sucky Dice Rolling.

It was a Maelstrom Mission. The Power Armored Wolf Guard Performed Well with every thing, Shooting, Overwatch, Being Assaulted, and Assaulting. Heaving 3 Attacks During the Assault Phase made a real difference with using a Small Pack. Once turn 3 Happened and my Dice decided I was aloud to make my saves they were very durable. The only time I had a problem was when his dedicated Assault Unit showed up and hit I7 AP3 Instant Death Warlord started to issue Challenges.

Over All it think it is going to work, next time I think I will go with Larger Packs, probably in Drop Pod or at least one in a Stormwolf.

So would you say they were worth using but in larger packs?

Any thoughts on giving them bikes or jetpacks?

Was there anything you wish you'd done differently or equipped them with instead?

Probably, as a 5 man pack a hand full of failed can wipe out the Pack.

I have considered going with the Bikes, it would be a good mix with Thunder Wolf Cavalry
As for the Jump Packs, I could be real nasty with the Champions of Fenris WS5.

I might have tossed in a Power Weapon or Storm Shield hear or their, that and make larger sacrifice to the dice gods.
