Under the couch

One of the side-effects of building Quad Bikes is that you wind up with a whole crateload of bike chassis with no front wheel assemblies.

I've been looking at various uses for those leftovers, with the first result being an Ork Monowheel a while back. This was my second idea...

There are a couple of changes I'd make if I do any more of these... It only got a landspeeder jet exhaust because I happened to have one lying around. Next time I would probably just rig something up from jump pack jets. And I need to find an easier way to attach the jet intakes to the front.

You can find more pics under the couch

As always, comments and criticisms welcome.

Looks good except for the intakes, I would put them right under the jet, right now they just seem unrelated, I don't see how the air gets to the jet.

I saw a similar conversion that added a front spike to the wheel well whihc makes the model more dramatic.

I disagree, I like the intakes right where they are.  Though I do agree that they do not make much mechanical sense.  Maybe if you flip the intakes around so that they cowel is resting ontop of them and have big tubes running back to the turbine, that would make more sense.  Hmmmm, then you could have the storm bolter pintle mounted, maybe fire in the same direction as the rider is looking.  That could be fun!  But i love what you have done with this conversion!  Looks awesome!

mounting the intakes lower, underneath the body will give it a more dynamic silhoette than a brick shape

but then again, Imperium loves brick shaped vehicles (it suits them)

I think it needs some short wings.

Awesome idea, but it's still obviously a bike.

Here's my 2 cents to put it completely over the top:

1. Put a round air intake on the front of the bike big enough to feed that massive engine. Some small pipe should do it.

2. cover the bike engine with a piece of flat plasticard. What's a V8 doing in the middle of a jetbike?

3. Shave off the bike exhaust. Again, what are exhaust pipes doing there.

4. Cover up the newly shaven bike exhausts with some small wing assemblies. But make sure they're small.

But regardless, I love it. If I ever do my slaaneshi daemon bomb, I'm stealing your idea.

working from Mauleed's idea, why not put some rod inbetween the front and the main body... like extending the front ala 'speeder bike'.

Can you D.I.G. it?
