Sweet! Those are some good looking aliens and would even make decent Tau replacements with a barrel swap and some sort of targeter. Or even just on their own as the designers intended. Good looking stuff & I look forward to seeing what else comes out!

Aren't they the Drantahks that Bob Olley sculpted? If not, they are so close as to be IP infringement. If they are the same ones, I didn't realise they had gone to Argentina.

I don't think so, and looking at Olley's Armies, the only things remotely close are the cyber claw aliens, and they're not really close at all (aside from being anamorphic bipeds aliens). Then again, Bob Olley's sculpted a lot of stuff, plenty of which isn't available on his site. I dunno! [edit] - Looks like they are indeed exact copies of some of Bob Olley's sculpts!

Yes those are the Drantakhs as sculpted by Bob Olley (as it says on the scale creep site). I think he does freelance as well as his own stuff.
But are Thule Miniatures part of the set up? If not, are they being dodgy?

This is Steve Carroll of Regiment Games. The figures pictured are MY COMPANY's Drantakhs, sculpted by Bob Olley for me. Bob took the pic of the greens, and I took the pic of the cast figs. You can see pix of all Drantakhs currently in production at regimentgames.com. I sometimes sell them direct from my site. The only other source at this time is Scale Creep Miniatures at scalecreep.com. More poses are being cast this week, BTW. I usually announce new products and sales at The Miniatures Page (aka TMP) at theminiaturespage.com. I sold one set of Drantakhs direct to a customer in Argentina. I am wondering if he has had anything to do with this. I have never heard of Thule Miniatures. If they start selling these figures, they are illegal recasts and they should not be purchased. My thanks to a reader of this forum who brought this to my attention. Thule, STOP this pretense now and don't rip me off.

WTF. Recasting is low, low, low. I know I'll not be buying any figures from Thule now and I would hope nobody here will either.
Good catch Inso and thanks you for the notice Steve. Recasting hurts everyone, but especially small companies like yours. Hopefully you'll be able to squash these pirates like the bugs they are.

Indeed- I think someone has some explaining to do here. Luna de Hierro? Care to explain this?
Regiment Games- please be assured Dakka Dakka does not in any way condone recasting of any sort, what so ever, and note that I'll keep my eye on Luna to make sure this doesn't happen again.

(Saw this story on TTGN and am shocked by the audacity of "Thule Miniatures" to even try such a maneuver.)
But no matter what language they do or do not speak, they still didn't create the minis and are not licensed to sell them. So there are two options here:
1. They somehow got a set of the miniatures and are going to recast them from the originals.
2. They don't have the miniatures, but are going to scam people into believing they do by grabbing pictures off of regiment's website and posting them on their own.
BTW Bob Ollie does speak english and is perfectly capable of telling us about his work.

Also not sure how the date the minis were added to ScaleCreep adds anything to your arguement. BTW What is Thule's website? I'd be interested in seeing what other miniatures they are recasting.

Good Job Inso and master yair for the spot. I hope to hear from Luna De Hierro again on this matter. I think regiment has stated their evidence quite clearly. All one needs to do is see regiment games website to explain such. So Luna de hierro, I dont think you explained yourself clearly enough, english as a secondary language or not, youre english has seemed to revert to "No habla anglais" suddenly when issued with the facts. All your other posts seems quite a bit more coherent. Here is my evidence. www.dakkadakka.com/Forums/tabid/56/view/search/f/0/m/AllWords/stype/PostedBy/Default.aspx Now where is yours?

The pix you are showing are of my products. It looks like you are getting ready to STEAL from me. STOP. Hello, first, i apologise for the thread, didn´t know anything of this, a friend of mine in Argentina asked me to pass the pictures to the international forums (also upload them in the warseer forum) and told me that one of his "forum friends" back in Argentina were starting to create some minis of their own, i agreed to upload this in the international because they said they didn´t spoke english, seems to me that i´ve been making a fool out of myself (so many people can´t be lying) so… once more i apologise for this, caught me right in the face… i look like a **** for trusting this guys. I sent a message back to them so they explain themselfs over this, for the moment i spoke to another friend in Argentina that told me that recasts are not punishable by law over there, so… **** me for being so stupid and not investigate this, i know this isn´t enough but… sorry as soon as i get a answer i promise ti apologise in public, sorry for this, didn´t know they were recast, they even gave me the "original" pictures in grey putty… i´m so ******* naive. =========================================

Well at least he didn't know what was going on. I feel bad for the guy. It's not like all of Bob's sculpts are for big name companies that are immediately recognisable by their IP. All that being said the good thing is we've managed to hopefully shut down another recaster

@Drake: Oh, Luna totally knew what was going on. See Hellfury's links on his past posts.
The guy speaks perfect english (heck, he even has perfect punctuation!) and now suddenly he's like "i no now about what going on. some guy just told me about this company and i post here. my english - is no good." (I have this picture in my head of the bandito from "The Treasure Of The Sierra Madre" saying this).

Yeah, I'm pretty sure this Luna guy knows what was going on. He posted this afternoon on Warseer before they found the TMP article and/or this post and he was trying to brush the contraversy under the rug. He's since had plenty of time to retract and apologize here and elsehwere but apparently hasn't. Not that I'm surprised, people looking to shaft others by stealing their work don't really care about such niceties.
Excellent work gang, I really hope they reconsider whatever recasting operation they had in mind and that this put an end to it.

Please, i sended a mesage yesterday to Steve Carroll of Regiment Games apologising, me and a friend over in warseer were caught in a web of lies because of someone who we though was a good friend, this Luis i´m talking about came with the pictures and said they were is creations and asked us both if we could pass them to the international web because his english was very simple, and we said yes... wouldn´t you do that for a friend? The thing is that this minis ARE recasts from those of Regiment Games and we didn´t knew about it since they are quite in the shadow, and he is satarting to recast them... i send a e-mail yesterday to him, told him a couple of things he should have heard before about recasting minis, this guy usually takes small bits and add more detail to them and recasts them for his own use (i´m talking about arms, helmets and small stuff like that). Wen we saw the grey putty pictures nothing made us think that this were from somebody else and we thought this was his work, he has the skills and the means off doing it but he shouldn´t take credit for somebody else job, i´m going to copy and post this in warseer to, once again i apologise to everybody for this crap, i thought i was helping a friend and i got @#~€¬ in the face by him. Once again, i´m really sorry for this, i got envolved in something dirty and malicious that i dispize, recasting shouldn´t be done for this purpose (getting money for somebody else hard work), sorry. Luna de hierro. Please, admins. close or erase the thread, it would be a good way to end this.
