Warmachine and Firestorm next week will be pretty sweet.
Yes woodbok I am thinking about you (plus James and Zak), it's not so much whether you're fine with the content but more your parents reaction to you being exposed to it. The last thing I want is for my running of DH to cause problems for the club.
If you think my parents will be upset or angry, then your thinking the entirely wrong thing. They wont mind.

Fair dues, you're probably in a similar boat to me then depending on how much the rules have changed form MK.1 to MK.2.

ok gentleman. several members have raised a few issues with myself. Firstly: Interference in games: this includes "giving tips" and "advice" please leave the respective players to there game and try not to distract them, if asked for advice feel free, however things such as "you should X" or "oh you did and now X should do X" will not be tolerated, and i will consider it a breach of the TnC's of memebership and warnings may be issued. I understand we are a loud lot and like to give tips and advice, but not to the detriment to peoples enjoyment. Secondly: (im guilty of this.. sorry) Bad language: I noticed (and commited) a lot of bad language last week, please keep to a minimum, as it can be seen as agressive by noobs. DH: Respect (again sorry): if we are going to play DH, we need to respect Nicks athorita! please.. shut up when he is talking (me too!), yes we were having fun, but nick clearly wasn't. Thank you Any queries please feel free to PM me.

More than likely, got the MK.2 cards through the post today since the box I brought had the older cards.....the stats change is a little interesting.

I can't comment there mate, I've not seen any mk1 stuff
On another note I got some FW bolters in the post today so I can finally make a start on some Sterguard. I'm using DA robed marines and the FW Umbra Ferrox for these boys along with some more robed marines and a mix of Grey Knight (swords) and Blood Angel (winged jump packs) parts for some Vanguard.
Oh and I'm working on some Honour Guard too using an odd mix of regular marine, blood angel and space wolf bits. The regular marine stuff is things like shoulder pads, backpacks, some torsos and some helmets. Blood Angel parts are the Sanguinary Guard swords/axes for relic blades. And finally from the Space wolves I've been using legs, some torsos and some helmets. They look pretty good so far and more importantly stand out.

I'm learning to play in GW (some of you may have met me already) but I'm going along on Sunday for the ultra noobs, if someone would like to play against me that day during that slot that would be awesome, otherwise any other day if you get back to me.
I'm also intending to attend on this coming Monday to the club in the school (time permitting). However, I only have Njal Stormcaller, so if someone would be willing to bring an army along for me I'd be able to join in, otherwise, I'd also be happy to do a 2 v 2 if someone has enough points. I'm up for most things, just get in touch

Guys we really need to get into Malifaux, I played a demo game today at the Easter Front show in St Andrews Hall. It's a very entertaining game and quite easy to pick up once you figure out the card mechanic (they've replaced dice with cards). The models look awesome too. I also spent a lot of time browsing the trade stands, got myself another Firestorm Fleet (Directorate) simply becuase I know at some point I'll want to play a fleet other than Sorylians. Grabbed a KR aluminium case with enough foam for those two Flames of War armies I'm doing. Bought the rules (plus one expansion) for Field of Glory which is an Ancient/Medieval game not sure if you lot are interested but it looks like it'll be easy enough to pick up (uses a points system) and I've always wanted an excuse to try a historic game at some point (I'll bring the book with me tomorrow and let anyone who's interested have a read). Also got enough stuff to introduce a rather interesting looking 28mm WW2 skirmish game called Operation Squad, it's as the name suggests a squad level game (about 10-20 models per side). Plus vehicle rules will be coming out later this year covering everything from jeeps to tanks. Bought a couple of squads to get us going in the form of some Soviets and Waffen SS Grenadiers (again I'll bring the rules tomorrow). I must be mad to try more game systems but both Field of Glory and Operation Squad look really inteteresting.

I believe i've seen Operation Squad played at Aftermath but not sure.
And i bought the Malifaux rule book yesterday from Wayland games, and probably going to buy the Neverborn Pandora boxset this week sometime. Soooo want to get into Malifaux, models are so cool. Kinda thinking GW games will be totally on the backburner forever if i get into this many other games systems (aside for the doubles tornament coming up).

I can't really see myself dropping 40k/Fantasy as I still really enjoy them, I might however stop buying so much as I do want to try as many different games as possible (hence today's spending spree)
For Malifaux I'm thinking about going for the Outkasts Viktorias set, will have to wait until I get paid at the end of the week though.
Just done the maths and I've got two 500pt Operation Squad armies which is the standard points level for the game plus a whole load of extras that will allow for different set ups. Not bad for £70 really.
Here's the lists for anyone who cares:
Russian Army (Rifle Squad):
1 Sergeant (with Binoculars)
1 Machine Gunner
7 Riflement
1 Sniper
1 Maxim section (gunner plus 2 crew)
495pts
German Army (Waffen SS):
1 Sergeant (with Binoculars)
1 Corporal
1 Waffen SS (mg42)
2 Waffen SS (Stg44)
4 Waffen SS (Kar98k, 1 is medic)
495pts

Don't get Pandora as a starter - she is the most complained about master in the game (her skizzle is based around forcing horrendous amounts of ranged WP tests, it really ain't fun for opponents) and pretty horribly OPd.

Shame you couldn't make it. Hopefully we'll be able to get a game in some other time.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks time I'll have that operation squad stuff built and undercoated (probably not painted though but I'll try to do a couple of test schemes), thankfully a lot of the models are single part and just need to be based but others like the Russian Maxim gun and the German MG42 are rather more complex. No idea if I'll understand the rules by then though.

Update I've now updated page 1 with the September Meetings. Next week Just a reminder we will not be meeting next week due to the bank holiday, this won't be a problem going forward but as this the first month systems are not in place yet. Please pass this on to anyone people who may not be on Dakka October Also can anyone wishing to be a member for October please pay the first meeting of the nest gaming month being 5th September 2011. I know a lot of you are paid up for September and might be wondering why you have to/should pay for October when we've not even got through September yet and why you can't just pay nearer the time. It all comes down to room rental, I need to know a month in advance if we are going to have enough money in the kitty in order to cover our outgoings. Otherwise we might get to the end of the month and realise we have come up short which would mean that we would either have to take money out of the scenary budget or I'd have to make the shortfall personally (something i'd rather avoid). I also do not wish to be scrabbling around a day before the rent is due trying to collect membership off people.
