Sergeant Wolverine finished

And my first Arab done

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Olley's Armies Steam tank. Apart from putting mud around the tracks and perhaps a drybrush and some work on the headlight, I'm just going to varnish and say it is done. Well, driver and gun need painted. Plus more work on the Arabs

.

Sgt. Howlett is very nice, indeed. I like that you used the same colors as your other Enforcers. It makes him part of the unit/army instead of sticking out like a sore thumb.

Are your shields done freehand?

Now showing a Harlequin Dreadnought!

Painting total as of 4/25/2024: 33 plus a set of modular spaceship terrain

Painting total for 2023: 79 plus 28 Battlemechs and a Dragon-Balrog

I wish I could paint shields like that. They are transfers.

Nice variety of stuff in the last few pages.

Only comment I have is some of your stuff looks a little shiny though. Have you considered matt varnish?.

The enforcers look very nice, really like the shade of red.

It's great to see so many different minis under the paintbrush.

Carlos, the Enforcers are deliberately shiney, I actually like the effect. Everything else should be Matt, I normally give finished models a coat of gloss and a couple of Matt coats. Apart from my skeletons, they are shiney as well to look more magical... Or at least that is what I think.

Finished these Arabs this morning, just Matt varnishing the shields. Hope to use them in Lion Rampart and Kings of War.

Also as it is a holiday in UK, I can sit in work and do some stuff... Building a Cromwell and some Angle-Saxons.

They are nice models, will have to steal colour schemes from you and JoshinJapan now when I get round to painting them..

Sun is shining in Ireland for a change today, so sat on my front step cleaning up a variety of metal models I have.

What models are these?

Hey Carlos, they are Black Tree 2nd Crusade Spearmen, Crusader Medieval Bowmen, and a mystery bag from North Star which contained quite a few Ronin models.

More prepped

These are Lucid Eye stuff and then a camel cannon to use in KoW with my GB plastic Arabs as a Kingdom of Men faction.

More MDF buildings for Bolt Action. These are from Warbases.

And I don't want to waste my train stuff, so have bought some 20mm stuff

Working on 20mm Germans.

I need to start a project and finish it...

Wish I had known about the lucky bag when it came out. Not only does it have some cool ronin models their by the looks of it but also some fist full of kung fu guys. Will have to keep an eye out for when they next do that.

I'll let you know the next time I see one. £16 for 20 random models is quite good.

The little German force grows.

Yeah it really is. Did you have any of the Fist Full of Kung Fu martial artists btw? The dude with the ropes looks awesome.

If you have a wide variety of Ronin models you might be able to make an Ikko Ikki force for the game as the Ikko Ikki lets you take Samurai, Monks, Foot soliders that are not quite ashigaru and peasants. Depending on what you have that might be worth looking into.

Don't think there was any Kung Fu guys, I got a Sumo Wrestler though. I was more hoping for some of the Of Gods and Mortals models but wasn't that lucky.

Ronin is an adventure for another day, I think. Too many projects on the go at once, but definitely something I want to get into. So much nice scenery and models.

Some armoured reinforcements. Panther's from Italeri.

Modelling has been slow, work and good weather are to blame. Nothing painted but I have been prepping a lot of models.

Going to give myself a few little goals, so by this time next week, I want this regiment of Arab spearman finished and 3 Arab Calvary done. Hopefully I'll also get quite a few other bits and pieces done.

What made you decide to go for 20mm ww2 btw?

I just ordered a grab bag from Northstar

You might be interested to know they have a ww2 grab bag in stock

It's from 4Ground, new release. It is rather good.

Basically I have loads of OO gauge terrain that I would like to use, and it fits with 20mm.

I may have a look at the grab bag... I need to paint more and buy less!

Anyway, freezing up the terrain for some Frostgrave action.

Makes perfect sense mate. I originally was going to go for 28mm WW2 but then released I wanted tanks, and tanks are just too big and expensive in 28mm.

Liking your frost grave terrain.

What caused the destruction of my Frostgrave castle? A big Dragon. Going to snow it up and perhaps a nice wash and dry brush.
