Considering the Blood Angels (no apostrophe) didn't even have a battleforce, it's only an improvement. They'll probably take the battleforce off the menu until the second wave of minis for Necrons, so I'd recommend grabbing a battleforce now instead of waiting a year and a half.

The problem with that being if they do intend to add upgrades and such to the warriors, the ones you buy now won't have them...then you'll have to either go back and covert them, or buy even more warriors to get the upgrades. I have 60 warriors right now that I'm praying they don't do a bunch of upgrade options for.

Just out of curiosity (and because i can't view the site on my work PC), what are GW charging for a battleforce these days?

Also, could anyone point me to one of these hallowed and famed discount websites i've heard so much about (a UK based one preferably)

Battleforces/battalion prices vary. The new Tomb King one is a wooping £70 all for an extra 4 skellies

Hmmm, so £42.00 for a necron one woudl most likely be a bargain then.

Until we have more then rumours about what is and is not being changed and the like I find a battle force hard to want to get, too much of a gamble sure it will definitely be cheaper then the new battle force if recent trends are worth anything but it will have a chance at older models or older sprue's with less extras.

Wayland Games and Maelstrom Games are two of the main ones. But like I said, neither of them still have the Necron Battleforce.

Still some extra Warriors and Destroyers would never hurt, even without their possible upgrades. So I don't regret my choice of ordering one.

Its not a sure bet that the current battleforce is going to be good value for money.

Since we don't have a new codex yet we don't know for sure that the current edition boxset contents (warriors, destroyers and scarabs) won't totally suck. Or that there won't be a new "must have" unit (wraiths or flayed ones).

The only thing we know for sure is that the stats and point costs are sure likely to change after such a long time.

And there are rumours that destroyers are getting remodelled torsos and maybe warriors will get some additions to balance the price/value problem that GW may have with them so there's a chance of getting stuck with poor options or out-of-date models.

Also if they make an appearance in the 6ed starter box set (also a possibility) then that may also be a better value for money option.

I just remember the Tyranid battleforce I bought after the codex came out, cost more and had the same stuff in except no fex. I was upset!

Has more Gaunts but that's about it.

I was thinking of getting one but not building it yet. That way if need be i can use the warriors as conversion fodder to make new immortals or flayed ones if the new models dont appear in the first wave.

and if it turns out to not be worth it i can always chuck it on ebay.

Future battleforces will have a fixed 25% discount compared to buying everything separately. This will result in different battleforces having different prices.

Yay! The way it was suggested in the book made it seem like a thing for Lords only, or in game terms very rare or something, would this be the case do you know?

I hate to break down hopes here, but since it did 'crumble to dust' this means that is was made Before the switch to Necrodermis, as everything after that was made out of the same stuff. However! We could instead look at is as potentially new types of vehicles being made that don't use the living metal or perhaps another Lord Did remember to craft one out of the 'dermis

IIRC tbe Tomb King one only saves you £4. 25% discount would be nice, do you have anything to support this?

Ghost I was going to ask a question about a Necron special character, but now all i want to know is what the heck is a "Sky Chariot"?

I picture it as a chariot...with anti-grav tech. There was some old Necron conversions done a while back of a Lord seated on a hover throne, which was a seat mounted on a Destroyer chassis. Maybe I'll sketch up a few ideas if I get bored today.

it costs 60 ergo rhino is free!

With the recent trend of 'large skimmers' including storm ravens, valks and the razorwing/voidravens I think it will be of similar size (I know we have not seen the RW/VR but yeah) would be awesome if it can transport somehow maybe? I know the idea of warriors coming out a transport always seemed a bit silly but some sort of mechanism like maybe the monolith might be fun. I don't know just a few ideas I have.

I'd far rather we had the ability to open portals and phase through them, or use a Phasic Generator, rather than bodily transport units of necrons, we'll just become too like Marines imho.

regular transport aye that would be bad but a method of movement is what I would like and I agree one of the necrons main fears is to be designed similar to Marines IMO.

And seeing as the codex is being written by the guy who so far has written 3 codexes in 5th edition, all marines, it's a distinct possibility. See my sig for details.

Indeed it is something that the guy who appears to be the space marine writer or whatever is doing the necrons. Whatever happens I just pray they feel 'necron' I know people have complained about the GK's but they still felt GK to me my opinion at least please no hate! =D lol
