Getting my broom incase there is shenanigans.

Game #2

So after my tie, I drop all the way down from table #45 to table #42.

I am still on the Lava tables and my opponent is Grace. I know her from the Las Vegas gamers group, even though she has been living in Ohio for the last year.

Mission: Secure and control.  Deep Strike, Victory Points, Dusk and Dawn.

We had 4 objectives you can see as green tokens. They are in a pretty strait line, and one is behind the rock pile on the right hand side.

Grace had:

Space Marines

Traits:

See, but Don't be Seen, and Trust your Battle Brothers

Her army was:

Master/Commander with twin Lightning Claws, Jump Pack, Iron Halo, and other assault gear.

10 Marines w/ Lascannon, Plasma Gun Vet Sgt w/Powerfist

10 Marines w/ Missile Launcher, Plasma Gun

10 Marines w/Melta Gun Vet Sgt. w/Powerfist  in a Rhino

6 Marines w/ Melta Gun In a Razorback w/TL Lascannons

8 Assault Marines w/Jumppacks Vet Sgt w/Powerfist and Plasma Pistol

Dreadnought w/TL Lascannons

10 Marine devastator squad w/4 heavy bolters

She had some vet sgt, w/Powerfist

She was tooled up for infiltrating most of her army, and we ended up playing the one mission without infiltrate

Turn #1

I win the dice roll to go first, and I was torn. Either go last in a objective mission, of go first and tear her army up. I thought I would go second because what was the worst she could go? Shoot her whole army at my Dark Reapers and maybe kill 2?

Marines turn #1

As you can see, (from left to right) Rhino with Squad inside, 10 Marine las squad, Razorback with 6 Marines inside, 10 Marines with missile launcher, Dreadnought, Devastators, Assault Squad w/ Commander.

She advances most of her army, and moves her assault squad behind the rocks to the right. She shoots at my Dark Reapers with her devastator squad and she ended up wounding my Dark Reapers 7 times with her heavy bolters. Of course I ended up failing 5 saves....so much for my Dark Reapers holding out.

My 2 assault squads jump on their falcons, and head out. I Kill her dreadnaught, and chew up her Devastators (The squad behind the assualt squad).

Turn #2

(Sorry about the picture resizing accident)

She moves forward and shoots a little.

I unload on the assualt squad, leaving just the Commander left.  I kill all of the devastators except one with a heavy bolter. This begins a game long duel between him, and the guardians directly infront of him.

Turn #3

She stunns my falcon, and her commander assaults my Dire Avengers. He kills everyone in his zone, but they hold.

My scorpions get out of their falcon, and make quick work of the commander.  My Harlequins get out, and try there luck against a 10 man marine squad as you can see, they have no luck and get the crap beat out of them. (At this point I was trying to reduce her scoring units).  And I do what I always do with stunned falcons...TANK SHOCK!

Turn #4

With the help of the razorback squad (They were embarked this whole time), the marines kill my Harlequins. She launchs an attack on my guardians on the far left, and hits only one squad and does not kill hardly any.

My guardians finally kill that last Devastaor. I do a little more tank shocking. I assault the Marines on the far left with my other guardian squad. I roll well, but that cursed power armor saves their lives.

Turn 5 & 6

This is pretty much how it ended. I had my Avatar on one objective, my scorpions on one, and my falcon on another. I thought I was going to get all 4 objectives, but as you can see, my falcon got shot down on the last turn.

Massacre for me, and I was on my way down to table #18 to play Kesher, everyone's favorite bitz ninja.

This is the best online battle report I've ever read. The pictures really help me understand what's going on. I think I'll be bringing my digital camera to the RTT this month.

Keep em comin.

Very nice pictures.  Thanks for the report.  Were you glad to be off the Lava tables?  They hurt me in 2 of 3 games pretty badly.

I look forward to reading the rest of your reports.

Another pat on the back for ya.
I definitely prefer the BATREPs with pics.

I hope you'll continue and take us through your entire tournament.

You played a girl gamer, and didn't take a picture of Her?!?

I see a couple typical 'crotch-shot' (o_O) snaps in there. Her army, on the other hand, is well represented and looks very nice. Including the 'Exit this way!' rhino arrow marking

Digging report #2, waiting for #3!
