Ok this question has been making its appearance quite often on my mailbox... and i have to do a tutorial on buglands about this subject... since making tutorials really takes some time I did a quick sketch pretutorial just how to do some tyranid carapace just to help out you guys at present moment... so I hope this helps.

Carapace should be thin and shapewise should be a bit rounded on edges so best tool for me its scissors... for geometric shaped things or less thin GS its better hobby knife
