Here are the first 3 models of my 8 model unit (with Rhino)....This unit is going into an army that I have started that is going to be fully converted...It has always been a goal of mine to have a "unique" looking army on the board...please note that these models are NOT Berzerkers...they are normal CSMs with an icon of Khorne...comments welcome.....just don't make me cry...lol

Digging on the AC, wouldn't mind a pic from another angle

Nice converting and paint all over though. Look a lot like beastmen, but that's all cool with Chaos (& Kron).

A finally some more beastmen . I like the grunts more than the AC. I tink the sword and the Terminator helmet are a bit out of place.

Symbio: The helmet and sword...well they are out of place....I'm not sure why, but I always make the weapons on my "special models" waaaaaay out of proportion....

Salvage: As requested....other angle pics.

The other angles made me a believer for the helm but have you thought of filing the sword down near the hilt to make the transition to the hand smoother? I think size wise the sword is fine but possibly tapering it a little towards the hand might make it both more interesting and viable. Great stuff though man, gotta love beastmen in all their forms!

FearPeteySodes: The sword is an almost exact match....I thought about giving it a little chop-chop...however, I had already started painting...and well I was just too lazy to go back and do it....you're right though....looking at it again, it does seem to be just rather rough...perhaps when I finish the unit i'll go back and fix it..

Thanx for the comments!

Love the work. got to to say the same and love beastmen in all there forms. been wanting to do the same with some extra beastmen. as far as the AC and the sword, personally I would add a longer handle making it a two-handed (at least looking like) weapon. I believe this would help with the "balance" of the sword looking off.

Werewolfhunter: That's a great idea! Thank you....that is something that will be done...again, once I finished the unit, and stop being so lazy....lol...

So i'm going to taper the blade, and extend the handle....thanks guys....I really appreciate the feedback!

I don't quite get what you mean about filing down the
sword. I take it that the parts stick out to you?

I'm just really awful at identifying bitz.

I actually love the helmet on the AC, very nice choice. Also, the pose is killer!

I meant just making the blade slightly narrower towards the hand.

I don't think the blade needs to be narrower towards to the hand. i think it looks very cool that wide.

The rest of the unit is almost finished.....however, i've run into a decision that I just cannot make. o you think that my icon bearer should have a banner? Or just leave the funky Khorne thing the way it is? I was leaning towards putting a banner on it....just because they are Beastmen....but I suck at doing banners..lol..that laziness is kicking in again...if I do go with a banner...anybody know where I could get a cool one that I do not have to draw (again, I suck at doing banners)

A cool way to do unique looking banners is to cut the shape out of thin plasticard and heat it up so it warps. I usually glue a wire frame to one side to train it to the curves i want before roasting it like a marshmallow. After it cools you can peel off the wire and sand off the glue patches. The result is more durable and realistic than paper but is just as easy to paint. I love using this method for chaos banners because they are always tattered and the heat does awesome/random things to the loose strips of the card. The only example i have is in my introduction thread, the parchment coming of the shaggoths glaive was done using that technique.

If you feel unmotivated to do banners though just hang some bones, skulls, or body parts off that crossbeam and it'll be more than acceptable for the blood god.

Both of those are great suggestions!!!! BTW you have a VERY talented painting hand!! I'm leaning towards actually doing a banner....or doing a number of thin banners that hang from the post....but i'm lacking ideas for a cool picture, or cool inscriptions....any ideas where I could find some inspiration? thanx for the suggestions!!! How did your model do in the GD?

Hehe if you end up doing thin banner strips you could just jack what i did on that beasty and paint them parchment color write trash talk with a thin brush using the chaos alphabet in the WFB Chaos book . IMO at least less is more w/ banners, come up with a cool symbol and let the focus be on your minis because you have some really cool conversion work on them.

The Shaggoth brought home a silver in the large model btw. Damn tatooed forgeworld ogre
