Craig Gallant, of The D6 Generation, recently finished his troll blood force which includes quite a few neat conversions. I've taken some photos of his stuff and will be attaching them to this thread for posterity.
Up first, his wild "Earthborn" Troll conversion based on the Dire Troll Extreme Sculpt.
Note the additon of the "Khador jack arm" and how the arm is turning red to represent the troll absorbing his opponents abilities.

Craig did a nice job on this Winter Troll conversion. A LOT of green stuff added to the "Bridge Troll" from Iron Kingdoms.

Grim Angus, with a nice conversion on the Snare gun that really gives the feel of its effect.

One of may favorite conversions in his army (as I like Madrake). Note the lack of his collar, and his awesome axe pose.

I finally made it to the bottom woooohooo! Congrats to Mr. Gallant or such a nice army although I think blue does not fit them that well with the grey highlights.

Its always great to see more of Mr. Gallant's work.
Its been a long time since I have seen anything of his on Dakka.
I mean what was the last thing he posted? Wasn't it the "Frozen Heart Kabal" from like, 1998-99?
Man, has it really been that long?
Craig is really getting old! I wonder how he is still able to continue painting miniatures with his failing eyesight...

This really inspires me to get working on my TB force, excellent job all around. Very good conversions. I may have to steal the Winter Troll, because I just can't stand the released version.

I'm not sure too many folks like the "air guitar" winter troll model. Craig's conversion was a great idea, although it does require a bit of green stuff work and some skill with a file.
Here's the bridge troll as he comes normally:
Note the webbing between the fingers had to be removed.
You almost HAVE to convert a winter troll, because going along with a theory that Criag proposed in our Episode 1b, the worse a PP model looks, the better it's rules are. And the Winter troll has some great rules.
For those who don't know, this is what a stock winter troll looks like:
Not sure what they were going for here, but definitly NOT my favorite sculpt.

It's nice to see Craig is still some really great stuff. It seems like it's been so long the last memorable thing I can remember him painting was his Slaanesh Eldar.

Well, thanks for the nice comments, guys. It's nice to be remembered . . . I think.
It's getting hard to remember anything myself, at my age . . .
b*st*rd.
I'm not a big fan of the PP model range overall, but they have some great ones, and a lot of them are in the Trollblood line, so there you go. I agree, that the grey stone doesn't really work 100% with the blue, but in person its a little less jarring, and I just finished doing a whole bunch of brownish rocks, and wanted a change.
The Squats are actually going to see some action this weekend at the Liberty Tree Mall GW Triple Nickle Tournament on Sunday. Should be fun. You don't generally see that many heavy bolters at 555 points . . . I'll probably be facing a bunch of Space Marines . . .
