When I about year ago started thinking about my own Warhammer 40K army, I fell in love with Imperial Guard. But not with that new Cadians, I wanted to build it using old Steel Legion models. About the colour scheme I wanted to do something similar to old World War 1 (french maybe) or napoleonic wars. So that's how my Blue Steel Legion was born... First I painted Lieutenant Oto Sturm with his personnal staff. Here I used&converted four very old-and-tired minis from Warzone, called Chasseurs.

Thanx... About that red - Charred Brown as basecoat, then thin layer of Gory Red and then highlighting with thin layers of Bloody Red (in last step mixed with drop of Bleached Bone). Painting with Vallejo Game Color...
BTW: That logo appears on shoulder of every soldier in my army. Mostly just that blue smiley without wings, but I will paint it complete on commander and some war-machines...

BBB: I think I will choose names with german or french 'sound' (for example Sturm is german word meaning 'storm' or 'attack').
KID_KYOTO: Thanx, I appreciate 'big gorillaz' for personnal stuff of commanders and Warzone minis fit my ideas perfectly. They are really brute on teble comparing to lieutenant or other soldiers...

I demand you put the TA-65000 in your army! It may actually be the crappiest vehicle model EVER made (barring the Mk1 Great Grey).

I will use converted Chimeras and Leman Russ tanks, but I am thinking about some heavy conversions of Sentinels. I have some suggestions for example these...

Those sentinels are great conversions, and so simple.
The dark blue ofset by the red is really working well.
Hope to see more soon.

New add-ons to my Blue Steel Legion - Maurice Benyowskyś Warhounds hardened veterans, made from Vostroyan Firstborn minis. I wanted them be more napoleonic than standard troops. They were speedpainted with result about 2.5 hrs per mini with good enough result... Another boys coming out soon.
Any comments, ideas or critics are welcome... If you mind, just make your judgement on CMON:

BTW: Those sentinels posted above are not mine, itś just for inspiration on anohter way making imperial guards...

Anywhere that sells Rackham miniatures should sell the AT-43 stuff.
