Stealers are in a XZXZXZ pattern so the feeder stealers spread the love out. The acid maw stealers are for people who just really think assaulting you first is a good idea.

All the fexes are the same, the Tyrant super units run forward along with everybody else.

Usually you leave the small rippers in the back to guard your objective(s).

You aren't trying to control them, just contest.

The extra ripper units let you contest objectives midfield...don't be afraid to pin yourself repeatedly. Having uber cover saves is nice.

The leaping unit is there so you can get it out ahead and tie something up.

Usually you take high casualties, then you hit and the enemy lines crumple.

Don't skimp on those tyrant super units, you NEED those!

I like this idea alot, think it will cause mayor problems almost everywhere. Maybe play around a little with the chosen equipment and the troops units, like dumping the stealers to 8 and getting some hormagaunts in. Would also prefer the extra wound on hwy fexxes.

IMO if you drop all the CC upgrads and put the devourers on ,it will be a better list.

You mean, it'll be shooty Nidzilla?

Did you note the CC Fex list part?

I can make a perfectly fine shooty Nidzilla list.

Sadly, I was asked to make a CC fex list cause shooty Nidzilla is boring for oh everyone.

I saw the title, just want to say shooty Zilla is still better than CC ones.

I would probably rather get 244 points worth of gaunts than rippers. The v5 rules that I understand mean rippers can't claim objectives - and 2 genestealer units aren't all that beefy for standing up to shooting, even with cover.

Gotta say, I like it. Target saturation can really work to your advantage.

1. What are the strengths and weaknesses of this list vs. other CC Carnie concepts?

2. In the world of V5 whats the rock/paper/scissors situation.

(Non-mod mode)
Stelek you've done several of these threads on a variety of lists or items (I like the concept of a CCZilla if just on a thematic basis). You might get more mileage by standardizing. I’d suggest as a start:

*List-testing (V5)
*Special units, concepts, or strategies being tested.
*der spiel
*advantages/disadvantages in general
*strengths and weaknesses vs. other types of lists (mech skimmer, ork etc.).
*example list.

Edit this list makes me happy, like the thought of ten bloodthirsters rampaging through a marine chapter makes me happy

Hell, Stelek, you might even make them into articles.

Good idea Valhallan42nd. Mayahps vet these and compile them into the "The Zen of Stelek, or How I Learned to Quit Worrying and Love The Eldar"

CC Fex arent that good and they should take More Gaunts if Rippers arent scoring thats just common sense.

Theres no Objective holders in this army.

I have a couple suggestions.

#1- Give the fexes +1 Init. Striking before powerfists is good, even with catalyst from the tyrants. You also don't have enough catalysts to go around.

#2- What about having 30 without number spinegaunts instead of the rippers? They'll be more "durable" objective holders since even if they die, they'll come right back. They can move and capture objectives in your deployment zone when they come back, and lurk until the final few turns for 3+ saves. If lurk stacks with the new "voluntary-pinned rule" those 8pt gaunts will have 2+ cover saves in woods and buildings.

You'll have problems against skimmers, but I'm sure you already realize that.

Impossible on the elite fexes.

Since the whole point is for all the fexes to be identical, why bother?

The +WS upgrade is there to prevent PF sarges from hitting, yes?

This means per phase on a standard sarge with no bonuses/frills...the sarge has less than a 50% chance of putting a wound on. That's more than good enough, yes?

Hmmm without number might not be able to contest, hard to say.

I'm hopeful the rippers will at least be able to contest...hard to say.

Both need a FAQ in place to see.

You are correct on the numbers, but in the end rippers are better than spinegaunts in the ways I'd want them to be: Better in close combat, and I doubt lurk will stack but the rippers will have fearless to rely on.

Being able to move freely is it's own bonus for nids.

Once a FAQ is out for the Nids, it'll be easier to see what's going on with the rewrit--umm I mean the 'revision to 5th edition'.

Yeah. That's the ticket! :S

Don't see why. Can you explain?

In 5th Skimmers are much, much, much easier to kill in CC.

I agree that killing them in CC is easier once you roll a 6 to hit. The problem will be getting close enough to assault them in the first place. Even with run, the 12" move for tau & monoliths means they can play keep-away. Eldar will simply forfeit a round of shooting to boost 24".

Oh, and you could get the +init if you removed the mace tail. Flesh hooks on those tyrants will also be nice to let you use your high init when assaulting into cover.

Who said anything about rolling a 6 to hit?

Monoliths move 12" now? Hmmm I know what the rules imply, but what does the Necron FAQ say? I'm guessing when it comes out, they move....6". I could be wrong, but guessing what will happen seems pointless.

If you think you can get away from 8 MC running around, well, I don't think you can.

The Tyrants need flesh hooks when they have catalyst...why?

Do you really understand the point of having catalyst and NOT upgrading the fexes with +I because it's pointless?

MAX attacks. That's what's desired.

Because they will ALWAYS get them.

See? It's a thing of beauty, really.

Yes, the "6 needed to hit a skimmer" is gone in 5th.

As a rule of thumb, the designers do not hide "easter eggs" in the rules. If clever reading is required to unlock some sort of hidden option, then it is most likely the result of wishful thinking.

But there's no sense crying over every mistake;
You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
