Anybody have any experience with this company? I'm really interested in the game mats; They look awesome! Here is the link for those that are interested: http://www.zuzzy.com/. Let me know about your experiences, both good and bad.

Those game mats are really sweet. I tried to get Neal at the warstore to start carrying them a few months ago, but I don't know if he has brought them on.

I liked some of their stuff and was about to make an order. I stopped because of the shipping.

$0.01 $19.99 44%
$20.00 $49.99 33%
$50.00 $99.99 22%
$100.00 $299.99 13%
$300.00 and up FREE
Standard Delivery of 1-3 WEEKS.

This is for Continental US. Progressively worse the farther out you are. I think OZ has to send an arm with their order and a leg following delivery.

My minis would love a better world to live in, but they'll have to wait for better shipping rates.

My wife ordered a mat for me from this company. I don't know what the shipping price was, but it arrived in a timely manner. The mat is not painted, but I used about 4 bottles of Vallejo paint of various earthy colors to drybrush the whole mat. I laid it out on a flat piece of wood supported by two sawhorses and painting was very easy. In total, it took me about 2 hours to complete the mat and it looks great. I've owned the mat about 6 months now and with regular use, there is no sign of damage or even the paint wearing off. It rolls right back up into the box that I received it in for convenient storage.

My only complaint is because the material is of some type of rubber/latex, rolling the dice on it can make the dice get a little bouncy and go off the table if your not careful. Minor quibble, however.

Overall, I really like the mat and get a lot of complements once I set up all the terrain. The mat really helps tie whole look together. Hope this helps.

No earth shattering, thought provoking quote. I'm just someone who was introduced to 40K in the late 80's and it's become a lifelong hobby.

They look great, and i was about to order one and saw the crazy shipping costs, like Flagg07 I gave up the idea.

Shipping to the UK is just a non-starter. I could just about scrape together enough for a mat, but not for the cost of transporting it across the pond. Maybe a non-US-based retailer might help, but I'm not aware of any.

That quantity of rubber is going to way heavy and be bulky to ship, so the shipping costs are probably justifiable to be honest. But that doesn't make them any more affordable! :(

I own a despoiled reaches mat. Its a great mat. Lay a pice of butcher paper over it when you roll it up so the back of the rubber doesnt eventually ruin the finish.

Regarding shipping prices. I bought my mat last year. The shipping on the mat was $15. They have reoganized their shipping costs and now the shipping works out to about $11 for a 4'x6' mat. (inside the continental US)

I really do hope that The WarStore will carry them at some point. Good for both Neal and more exposure for Zuzzy. Its about the only way they will see wide exposure across the globe due to high shipping prices on a per unit basis.

@ le grognard. Yeah, Hotzmats are nice, but when you want a realistic surface to play your games on, Zuzzy kind of blows them completely out of the water. Not to mention their shipping prices are pretty close to what Zuzzy charges.

I think Zuzzy wins hands down for 28mm gaming mats.

Now if were are talking space mats, then Hotsmats are really keen.

interesting stuff over all.
I wonder if the shipping issue could be solved by making the mats fold or divide into 1'x1' squares.

Zuzzy mats can't be topped, hands down. Hotz Mats can't touch them as far as detail level goes.

I've gotten lots of "wow"s and compliments about it. Some FLGS's don't even have terrain this nice!
