Here are the results for everyone to look at:

http://gwuscommunity.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/09/vegasgt40k.pdf

Out of 128 entrants:

John: 15th.
Andrew: 21st.
Robert: 106th.
Jimmy: 114th.

Their newbness to the GT circuit shows, but I think the next time they'll do quite a bit better. No practice with an army before the GT sucks for them...

Wish you could have played Mark for real during the tournament. Goes to show how looking at raw tournament results is meaningless as far as assessing which armies were competitive. From the results it looks like Mark overran everything. But you and St. John must have been playing top tables as well.

Too bad I've bought 4 Terminator squads for a BT army though.

You've always been very helpful to me and my son, I was glad to see the sportsmanship score.

Hope you'll comment on whether Orks really are unstoppable, or just lucky not to have run into you and St. John's Immolators.

Was there 25% TERRAIN on the tables? Were Terrain and missions pre-set? Were straight 5th edition VC's employed?

Daemons placed second battle score wise. Does this change your opinion about them being irrecovably screwed under 5th ed?

How do you think your 2 Seer Council Eldar or the Ubber Bang Bang army might have fared?

Sure you're exhausted. Look forward to more info.

Congrats!

Not gonna lie, I was really curious to hear about how you would do after all the trash talk on both sides

I'm also really interested in reading some reports from the event

John can comment on his own.

My DH are soft and fluffy, they won not because they it was a super competitive list because it isn't.

There were few super competitive lists at the LVGT. Alot of 4th edition lists, few built with 5th in mind.

Well seems people didnt have a grudge losing to you as you got perfect sports scores.

Comparing tournament records is another form of e-peen measuring.

I didn't bring a highly competitive list.

Everyone felt like my army was soft (except one guy I think who figured out the strength of the army) and figured they could roll over me.

I also got sleep, wasn't suffering from sugar coma, and had food that wasn't utter crap when I needed it.

Makes for a much better experience all around with me.

I only had one game go longer than ninety minutes, but three of them were shorter than normal games by far anyway....I think I gave a good game and was able to be more communicative for the reasons given above.

I was also not fighting on the top tables, despite winning I was not winning 20 point games (only got one of those) because the army really can't without tabling the opponent.

Can you be a bit more specific? Would like to know what I can expect at the GT final in October.

Is thier such a thing as super competetive lists in 5th. Besides 2-3 landraider lists from the few games I have played it seems to be more vanilla lately but assault based armies seem to have a slight edge.

Yes Lem I think there are. I'm going to be busy writing up batreps for a while, then I'll write up my thoughts on the tournament and give feedback to GW. After that if I'm still motivated I'll write up a mini article on 5th.

Good gaming Stelek. I'll repeat what I put in the rumors post. Post tourney what are your teams' thoughts and impressions of the new V5 missions/intereactions etc.

Because while Stelek can get a 50 sports score, him winning Best Sportsman would cause an irrepairable rift in the space-time continuum. Do you really want that??? DOYOU???!?!?!?

The lists for 1750 US GTs are going to be substantially different than the ones for the 1500 UK GTs.

@john

You should post some batreps as well for the haterz of your mech sisters list. I havent revamped my own sisters for 5e yet (since I'm sort of bored with them right now) but I'd like to see how the Immolator heavy idea went. Obviously well I see.

Good show guys. I agree with Mannahnin and I think 1500 is really a boring build anymore. 1750 should be the new minimums.

I will be posting batreps starting once I get home from work tonight. I have pics of the first day's games, but unfortunately my batteries died at the beginning of game 4 and just didn't have time to go get new ones.

I was a turn away from playing Marc on table 1 in game 5 - that's how well the Immo-heavy list went (and he did not want to face all those flamers!).

This is untrue, they are super shooty and a well built list with an interesting twist for the metagame. Eldar and Lashes seem less popular based on the turn out of the GT but you are certainly more than prepared for Psykers with the Hood and Sister squads in front(and various other anti-psyker stuff). The paint job isn't fluffy, that's for sure. For anyone who hasn't seen it it goes from yellow up to the knees, orange up to the waist and then the rest is read. It is a very interesting way to rock a 3 color bare minimum paint job though.

You did not beat me Andrew, we tied 11 to 9 based on VPs. I thought your gunline would surely win and I could have forced a tie by hiding. I went balls to the walls though and did my best to charge through the hail of bolter shells. I was rewarded with an extra tournament point for all of my troubles! : )
