Had a buddy down this week and his love for 40k was rekindled after a quick trip to pick up the Space Marine dex with me. So he snatched up a few boxes of minis and we got back to the house and quickly got to sorting through the new mess of plastic and metal.
After some thought he decided he was going to start a marine force. We got to hammering out some concepts as far as army composition etc. and decided that the force would be based around bikes and jump packs (it helped that he bought some marines ravenwing bikers ^_-). He also decided that he wanted to make them a successor to my very own Grey Death Marines. A little bit of work on color scheming and we got to painting.
Here's the fruit of my labor helping him by putting a model together and painting it for him:
I was a little worried when I started painting that the model wouldn't be very interesting with all of the muted colors for the scheme. But once all of the final highlights and details were on, I was all about it.
I saw that scroll and knew I had to model it somehow. I think that's probably the best spot possible for such a large scroll ^_^.
I think grey is a tough colour to pull off. I should know; I had my very own ''Ash Hawks'' chapter, now aborted due to a bad codex grey experience! Good work.
I really should be spending my time more constructively.
