Well, I wanted to start this blog some days ago but I´m pretty lazy/orky when it comes down to writing those blogs, making pics and such stuff but well.
As the title says, I have to paint two Orky Armies one Goff (mine) and one selfmade Klan for my friend. Both will be more or less footsluggin armies. More or less because I´m not in the mood two paint 2 footslugging armies.

I´ve started with 4Burnaz, one Big Mek with KKF and 5Kommandoz, one with Burna and the Boss. The next will be 100 Sluggaz *shudder*.
Next will be a Waaagh! Boss, Dok Grotsnik, 10Nobz and maybe some other stuff.
1750points Goffs finished in January is the first goal. The army will be painted on a good looking army because I dont like speed painted armies.

So here we go with the first pic. I wanted to make a couple more but the accu of my digicam went low damn accu. Whatever here´s the first pic of my unfinished BigMek.
The Skin will get some highlights but it´s close to be finished the way it looks there. Maybe adding some more shadows but well, it should stay on the table and not in my showcase.
More pics and stuff will follow asap.

Update .I.

Ok, I´ve skipped most of my pc gaming night to paint a little more than calculated. So here´s the Kommando with his Burna. The skin isnt finished but closed to and the metallics just need a little and finishing workover. The damn black checkered tube and such is a pain in butt! I cant help me but fu§$%& it up all the time.
Usually I use more green on my metallics and less blue but because the metallics coming together with a green skinned miniature I skipped the green alltogether.
The Skull on the back looks pretty bad because I painted it in other colours before but didnt liked those so I go black and white.
The clothes look a little strange I know but I lost track during the highlight basecoat so just skip that.

Update II

Some more Burnaz - finally, my Mek saw some progress and my first attempt to build up an ´ardboy.
What do you think? Does the ´ardboy is "too much" ? I went with the picture from the dex but well, he looks like he cant move but than again, it´s a frickin Ork.
As soon as I get my hands on some unpainted Nobz I´ll give him some "Dreadarmor" for their ´eavy armor. Not that I want to use ´eavy armor that much but be able to offer my Marine opponent some cheese to his whine is something I cant resist to.

Oh I´m working on those `mandoz and Burnaz as well, just wasnt able to make pics because of accu.
But I´m one of those freakz ya know 8hours painting a day is not unusual for me atm because besides my girl I have not much to do until January. So I guess I will make it.
My only limitations are my girl and money. If I could afford 3k points until January, I would paint 3k points.

Clothes ... Goffs tend to wear black clothes and black is a nasty "colour" to blend without getting too much into grey/white what I dont want. So I have some trouble there.
The Meks Clothes though aint there What you can see there is just undercoat (black/white). The skirt and all that stuff will be/are painted in some kind of "dirty white" and the throuser black. I want to paint 3/4 of the clothes of each miniature black and 1/4 white. Maybe less white. But I still dont really know how to break the flat black clothes yet. I have a couple ideas like working with atrtist chalk (dont know the correct term) but that´s not optimised yet.

More pics comin sunday because my girl claimed my saturday for herself.

The skin and the brass are awesomely done. Im not a fan of the silver metal, its a bit bright and clean. Maybe hit it with a brown wash or a rust effect?

Everything looks great, maybe try a waterd down chestnut ink on the lighter metal areas, but other than that awesome work.

Thanks for the commendation.

The verdrigis is made with blue. I used oil colours but it´s no problem to do so with acryllics.
Here´s a step by step with acryllics instead of oil.
- after a black&white undercoat I used heavily diluted black to paint all the metallic parts.
- after that use vallejo air rust (71069) over all brass parts.
- use bright bronze or sth similar to highlight everything except the edges and the parts who will be in the dark- There´s no need for smooth blending and such right now.
- Use diluted black ink to create shadows and to shade everything down a bit. I use a cookie cutter drybrush brush 02 from Kappel. Take up some of the Ink mix and use a lint-free cloth to get rid of the most of the ink mix in the brush. With the rest of the mix brush carefully from the dark areas to the brighter ones. Do it as often as needed to create the effect you want.

- Finally it´s time to make some verdrigis and some other effects if you want. Rust on brass is well, not in place So just verdrigis.
Dilute dark blue ink or sth similar and do the same steps as you´ve done with the black ink for the shading process.

That´s it. Sounds more complicated and timeconsuming as it is. With some train you should be able to finish it within 30-45mins. Without drying time though.
I will make some pics when I work that out on my other burnaz. Instead of inks you can use artis chalk for verdrigis effects pretty well. Rasp some chalk, dilute it with white spirit or sth similar and paint on. Chalk is nice for every metallic effect but if you use it, make sure there nothing else to paint on the metallic areas left because after the chalk is worked into the metallic areas it´s not possible to paint of it without creating a lot of crap looking metallic parts.

The silver is, well, I agree with you. Could use some more rust effects for sure. It looks a bit flat right now. Just some shade and ageing isnt enough.
