The next model painted and ready! I've added some Cadian bits, some skulls (he is Khorne after all) and removed the boulder from under his foot, so he can stand on the helmet before pinning him to the base. His armour has been painted Foundation red over a black undercoat, followed by Brown Ink, and then Scab Red, mixed with Blood Red, mixed with Blazing Orange and finally Firery Orange for the extreme Highlight. The bear skin cloak is Foundation brown, Washed Devlan Mud, and then highlighted back up to a mix of Foundation brown / bleached Bone. The Gold trim is Tin Bitz, followed by Shining Gold, Burnished Gold, and Mythril Silver. I've pinned his arms with brass rod for extra strength.

I've painted a few metal models over the last few weeks, and GW metals seem to be getting really bad quality. The casting of the Chaplain the other week was really bad with a 2mm step on the armour where the mould lines where. This one, the arms needed serious bending just to get them to line up, and without the brass rod, just would not glue. The cloak does not fit unless you file off the little knob bit on the back of the model what its supposed to fit on. Anyway, here's the Ebay link, and the pics, comments welcome.

Yes yes, we know the axe is wonky! But its bending due to the forces being exerted on it by the user as he swings it...... honest....
