well i entered this model in a painting competition and i won...awesome!!!
but now i want some real opinions cuz i didn't really got any but wow great and coool are there any negative thoughts so that i know what to work on.

I think you could have drilled out the barrels on the assault cannon. The hazard stripes look very crisp ... good job on those. What does the base look like?

Dont like the lava just seems very out of place with that paint scheme

how did you work the metal?

The metal does indeed look very nice. What did you do with the skulls. That's a nice glow effect.

Besides that I think he seriously lacks some color. The metal paintjob is good, but there's hardly anything else on the model worth mentioning. I just see a lot of Boltgun Metal and that's it.

I like the lava, it looks more like imagery than literal molten metal, exactly the sort of savage battle honor a chaos dread should have.

the metal is just chaos black with boltgun metal edged around and drybrushed onto it
and there is absolutely no glow on the skulls i think it's just the picture

I'd like to be able to see more separation between the weapon mounts and parts of
the body. I'd also like to be able to see more separation between various parts of
the dreadnought itself. I can't tell if you were able to do this from the picture.

Ways to pull it off:

-Different metallic paints
-More shading between parts.
-More highlighting on higher parts.

Just some ideas from a rank amateur who can't see what's going on in the photograph.

I really dig the dual assault cannons on there. Supa sweet on that. I agree you did a good job on the drybrushing. Thats my technique as well, but I do think that the dred is missing something. The lava, however looks good, is kind of outta place on that mini. Ive no clue what to suggest what else to paint on it for extra UMPH but it is kindda missing something. Otherwise thats a really sweet dred ya got there
