Yesterday we had six of our WC players show for a three round Swiss style 1850 point tournament.

You've tried to link directly from your inbox, given that you need a password to look at whats in your inbox don't you think that makes it a little hard for everyone to see the picture?
You need to host the pic somewhere publicly viewable, like on photobucket or something.

Also advice, try writing the report before you make the post with the report in. Content is good, a battle report isn't sufficiently exciting to warrent a 'coming soon!' trailer.

I have seen my share of batreps that started off as place holders.

Here is who participated and what they were playing...

Green Blow Fly - mechanized Blood Angels
White Devil - Daemonic Hordes
Stylez - Daemonic Hordes
Allerka - mechanized Space Marines
Shane - Chaos Space Marines
Brian - Eldar

It was 1850 points with the missions from the rulebook. We planned to play three rounds with Swiss style pairings but there was only enough time to play the first two rounds.

W = 5 battle points, Draw = 2 battle points, L = 0 battle points

Bonuses:
+1 point if you kill your opponent's most expensive HQ (does not include retinue)
+1 point if you control the most table quarters
+1 point if you kill more enemy troop choices than you lose

-1 point if you do not have any scoring units in your opponent's deployment zone
-1 point if you have less troop choices left than your opponent

Each game will use one mission and deployment rules from the main rulebook. The first two missions were randomly selected with random pairings for the first two mission. The overall winner was the player with the highest running total score at the end of the third mission. The player who killed the most enemy HQ over the course of the tournament won the Head Hunter award.

The first mission was Take and Hold with the Spearhead deployment. Here were the pairings:

Green Blow Fly (BA) vs. White Devil (Deamons)
WC Brian (Eldar) vs. Stylez (Daemons)
Allerka (SM) vs. Shane (CSM)

Here is the list I was running:

I won the deployment roll and decided to go second keeping my entire army in reserve. Here is White Devil's list:

White Devil put the following units in his first wave and they came in:

Fate Weaver
Masque
6x Blood Crusher
6x Blood Crusher
6x Blood Crusher

There were four objectives total and we both placed two deep in the corners of our DZs.

Turn One
WhiteDevil's first wave came in landing in the middle of my DZ. The Fate Weaver scattered on top of some difficult terrain but passed its DT test. The crushers ran to spread out and fill up my DZ. The Masque stayed close to Kairos.

Turn Two
The daemons moved out such that one unit of Blood Crushers were close the edge of my DZ at the middle of the board. None of White Devil's reserves came in.

My turn the only two units to arrive from reserve were one tactical squad and Corbulo with the Death Company. The DC rhino passed its OCE test and came in at the center of the table moving away from the BC unit towards the two enemy objectives. The tactical squad could only move 12" in their rhino and also came onto the table at the center following behind the DC. Both rhinos popped smoke.

Turn Three
One unit of Plague Bearers and a Soul Grinder came in from reserve. They also landed in my DZ with the PBs hiding behind the grinder. The Soul Grinder fired its maw at the tactical squad rhino but the template scattered off. The Fate Weaver fired Gaze at the DC rhino but was unable to do any damage. The BC unit that had left the safety of Kairos' reroll power assaulted the tactical squad rhino and managed to immobilize it... oh well. I had been planning to move them onto White Devil's objectives with the DC for protection but that plan grinded to a sudden halt.

My turn in came one Baal, the other tactical squad and the assault squad. I came into my own DZ from the short end of the table, popping smoke and moving 12" and keeping them together for support. The Baal came on six inches, passed its OCE test and fired everything at the Plague Bearers killing two. I also took some pot shots with the rhino storm bolters at Kairos but they failed to do any damage. The first tactical squad disembarked, fired their bolt pistols and the meltagun into the BC and managed to do one wound. They then charged and were within range of Corbulo for the Furious Charge bonus. I managed to do a couple of wounds which were spread out amongst the daemons. The Blood Crushers struck back and killed five Marines then my power fist went off for another wound. I passed my leadership test and everyone piled in.

Turn Four
Things started to get very interesting now...

In my experience (Black Belt 1st degree in Tae Kwon Do), I'd much rather fight a beefy guy than another skinny/wiry guy with a long reach. If they're fast enough they can just keep hitting you without much reprisal. Not to mention kicks. We had a guy visit my dojo from NY, the man could jump straight up in the air and strike three different targets with the same leg before landing.

For some reason, I'm reminded of the skinny white guy in Office Space that listens to hard core rap, has a Navy Seals poster or flag on his wall, but nervously locks his car door when the homeless guy walks between cars looking to wash windshields.

I always get a real kick out of SW players when they howl and beat their chests.

My favorite is always the "Blood for the Blood God!" or "Waaaaaaaaagh!" that GW encourages players in their multi-player events to occasionally shout out. And we wonder why gamers get looked down upon. I mean, it's not like we behave like jocks - bumping chesting and smacking each other on the ass.

"Way to melta-gun his landraider!" followed up by a smack on the ass.

The best is when people start pulling out their hair and crying cause of a bad dice roll.

Hence the multiple points, didn't say just kicks now did I? I've never kicked anyone in any real fight I've been in. No, I'm don't crack skulls on a usual basis like you do with your job Shane, but I've been in my fair share of scraps. If I wanted to kick someone, I'd prob stomp the front or side of your knee cap as hard as I could, snapping the bone and tearing the cartilage that holds it together. Fight over.

I hate rap, I don't consider it real music. I hate "gang-stars". The point of the flashing the WC, is really more of a joke brought about by our fearless leader. We all thought it would be funny if we did it for the pic. That's really all it is. Your supposed to laugh, not take it seriously.
