Heyhey, i'm looking for a colorscheme for my raptors.

I'm going to create a ice and snow deser theme (something like siberia)
Raptors are common animals in the Fluff.

So please help me choose
Or idea's and tips on creating better color scheme.

The darker blue with the white is a nicer contrast than the more homogeneous look of the second model. Are these for IG or Dark Elves?

I dunno...

I think that #2 looks more icey

i like the white a lot but i think it would look better with some of the darker aspects of the first ones leg area etc...

I voted "Another".

The skin tone in picture 1 is great. The green/brown is far more natural. But I think the bright teal scales aren't best suited for an icy tundra. The predator would stand out too much and starve. The lighter color scales from picture 2 are more what I would envision.

Skin from picture 1, scales from picture 2 (possibly with a final, full white highlight)

Either way, both models look sharp!

#1 did it for me. The second looks nice and all but it looks too blue and dry brushed to me. The first has more character. Nice paint job BTW

use the scales from pic 2 on the flesh from pic 1 and then you create a desert / ice thingy beast / raptor

Agreed, my thoughts exactly. The contrast helps the model as a whole.

Sorry, I don't think either of them look very "icey" and the darker one looks too tropical to me. There is something off about the tone of your blues to me (maybe too much green?). Have you looked at Siberian native wildlife (tigers, owls, huskies, lynx and such) maybe for some inspiration. How about an icey blue and black tiger stripe style design? Just some thoughts.

Great paint jobs on the minis though.

it may not look the iceworld part as perfectly as it could, but the first one is far superior of the two. The natural looking flesh of the raptor beneath it's scales is much better to the bluish white skin it has in the second one, and the two-tone scheme makes it look better.

Now, if you left it as is and put a rider on it with a big fur coat and a furry hat, then you're set.

Said rider better have an AK-47 btw...... pretty sure we just found a concept cooler than the bear cavalry.

I would go with the first one. The second seems rushed and very plain.

The first is quite nice. Very natural looking.

Gathering the Informations.

If you're trying to do like a Siberian Tundra look?

Don't go for that bright of a blue shade.
Go for something like a grey-ish blue, maybe like Shadow Grey or Necron Abyss.
Charadon Granite might work too.

Well second one's looks that way because its my test subject and got it for free from a friend.
Not that it matters, but he had alreday glued som bits on it.
so when i removed them the glue got stuck in between the scales and a good drybrush was harder to create.

Like many have said
The skin from the first and the scales from the second.

Passed at leone's place to give him irl view of the model and his reaction stay'd the same.

Allready thanks for the good reactions to all.
I'll try to paint a version with combination i wrote above.
