Yeah, although the majority of competitive armies that I'm seeing these days have the majority of their assault terminators armed with TH/SS.

As far as LCs looking cooler? The only LCs that look cool are the ones that come in the Chaos Terminator Lord box set. The rest look like the suck. In fact, the older metal LCs look better than the new plastics. Hell, back in Rogue Trader days when I got the RTB01 plastics and glued three of the combat knives to the plastic power fist it looked better than the new terminator LCs.

The best load out seems to be somewhere between a 1:3 and 1:5 ratio of LC to TH/SS.
If you were going to run Khan, I would flip the ratio to run 8 LC and 2 TH/SS. The 5 initiative is to good to run him with TH.

Those arn't even the new terminators the new ones have knuckle a duster type wait to go

Id also only run thunder hammers the better save is a godsend.

Id like to point out that assault termies (or normal termies) do not have frag grenades so while they can fight at I4, assaults through cover..somthing usually taken for granted either by I1 reguardless TH or frag-grenade standard marines... hamper LC assault termies.

This can be completely offset by either a land raider redeemer or crusader delivery system. With frag-assault-launchers

EDIT: And to add to what Razerous is saying, BT or BA termies can take advantage of Furious Charge, which really makes the lightning claws nasty, and only have 4+ storm shields.

Right.
I'd give them TH/SS, nothing else. Then you are on the safe side.

honestly? I think the T/SS termis are very good if you are dealing with lists made to have a single attack that ignores armor... but vs mass bolterfire/orks assault, a 2+/3+ is just as good as a 2+/5+

5th ed is going the way of volume of fire instead of quality of fire

regular termis + cyclone missiles are "the sheeeeeet"
