Primary Objective: (Cleanse) The player who controls the most table quarters wins. To control a table quarter a player must have a scoring unit within the table quadrant and their opponent must not have a scoring unit in the quadrant. Any unit at or above 50% of its starting number of wounds or mobile vehicle counts as a scoring unit. Win=20, Draw=10, Loss=0
Secondary Objective: The secondary objective will be announced 45 minutes into the game. Win=15, Draw=7, Loss=0
Tertiary Objective: Victory Points Win=10, Draw=5, Loss=0
Tactical Bonuses:
+2 Have not troops remaining on the table.
+1 Your opponent has no troops left on the table.
Strategy: He really does not have much in the way of anti-tank. I just need to be carefule around the Chosen and kill those Defilers.
Turn #1
Thousand Sons Turn #1
Commence operation kill Defilers!
Iron Warriors Turn #1
We trade some shots. Nothing much happening with an armored standoff.
Turn #2
Thousand Sons Turn #2
I kill a couple of Defilers, and I am winning the shooting war.
Iron Warriors Turn #2
Because he is losing the shooting war and all he has been able to do is shoot some havoc launchers at the terminators, he is getting antsy and moves up to melta my dreadnought.
Turn #3
Thousand Sons Turn #3
My dreadnought gets angry and charges out to kill some marines. I move a rhino up and rapid fire the noise marines and take them out.
Iron Warriors Turn #3
He gets his Greater Demon and it kills my dreadnought. He gets his chosen out of the rhino and unloads on my Thousand Sons before charging them.
Turn #4
Thousand Sons Turn #4
I move my
DP up to assault, but I am just out of range.
Iron Warriors Turn #4
He assaults my Demon Prince and kills it.
Turn #5
Thousand Sons Turn #5
I shoot at the Greater Demon, but he is tough.
Wide shot
Iron Warriors Turn #5
ot much going on at this point. He throws his Greater Demon into the assault and wins it.
Wide Shot. He moves his rhinos behind me.
Turn #6
Thousand Sons Turn #6
I move my last Thousand Sons squad up to finish off the last of the marines. Let me also say that 45 minutes into the game they announce the secondary objective, and that was move the most victory points units off of the board through you oppoenents deployment zone. It was a good thing for me my terminators were walking to his deployment zone anyways (and the killed a rhino and a plague marine squad on their way off).
Iron Warriors Turn #6
Abaddon jumps on my
TS squad. Also see the rhino in the upper left? That was a rhino filled with Thousand Sons that he never moved the whole game. It just ended up in a corner, and never moved. Very strange.
Turn #7
Thousand Sons Turn #7
Not much to do at this point. I am shooting the rhinos that are still driving around.
Iron Warriors Turn #7
It is all over but the accounting. I have table Quarters, I moved my terminators off of his deployment zone, and I won
VPs.
So I win this game. It is nice when you play chaos without the lash.
So for the gladiator I went 1-1-2 and I finished in the middle of the pack. I do not think I did too bad even in the no-holds barred gladiator tourament with a sub-par army.
If I had to do it over again I would change my list around quite a bit, but you live and learn. Too bad I had already made my Invitational list, because I will again take a lot of the bad units.
The championship batreps should be up tomorrow.
