Yeah, So I just started Warhammer and got Battle For Black Reach not to long ago and read what to get and some good tactics and stuff like that. But back to my army I am really not the best painter ever but I tried really hard. I am still finishing up painting the details so if you see any where were I can improve please say. Try not to be to critical because I cant paint the really tiny details. I don't know all the ways you can paint so if somone could also explane some good ways that would be cool. Thanks please give feed back.

Very neat paint jobs, which everyone says is the most important thing when starting out. For improvements you may want to try some basic highlighting and then basing your miniatures.

Keep it up!

Here is a link to a Dakkadakka article on highlighting, which should answer your basic questions and give you some good ideas. Useful stuff, the DakkaDakka articles.

And your painting does look quite nice and neat. Good work, and keep at it.

Cap'n Gordino's instant grammar guide:
"This is TOO expensive." "I'm going TO the store, TO get some stuff."
"That is THEIR stuff." "THEY'RE crappy converters."
"I put it over THERE." "I'll go to the store THEN."
"He knows better THAN that." "This is NEW." "Most players KNEW that."

That's a good start, if you've done all that with no help . As above, look through the tips in the 'how to' threads and it'll show you ways to bring your standards up.

I would use a wash on those models, badab black would work, it would make the models look more crisp without too much effort. Basing also improves a model s appearance dramatically IMO. this link should help

Some quick and dirty photography suggestions: (This works best for photographing single units or squads)

Take the models you are going to photo and put them on a white piece of paper (because your models are primarily black). Curve the back of the paper up behind the models so that it forms a backdrop.

Get two lamps. If you cannot get two, then one will have to do.

Position the two lamps so that one is directly over the top of the models shining down on them, and the second is about 45 degrees to the front shining on them.

Enable your macro function on your camera. This should look like a pretty little flower button. This lets the camera focus in on very close objects.

If you are using incandescent bulbs in your lamps, use your camera's auto-white-balance, or lighting source, and set it to that. May be called "indoor" lighting or something similar if it does not say incandescent.

Set the exposure up by +1/3rd or so, experiment until you get the lightness you want that shows details.

You should get a mini-tripod for your camera. If you don't have one, set it on the table for extra stability. If you move the camera pretty much a hair while taking the picture at this close, it will make it look blurry.

Take the shot!

Whew, I really need to put this into a tutorial. Maybe I will. Anyway, stuff looks good so far. One more modeling tip: Drilling out the barrels of your large guns like the multi-melta on the dred can help the visual quality of your models.

Hope it helps!
