Well, here is the 1st of 30. I'm working on a WIP photo set for the 2nd, currently, so if anyone is interested in the techniques used on this model many of them will be presented in the WIP thread I plan to post on Monday. Whuddya'll think?

Fantastic paint job, not too sure about the torch though, I modeled mine with the flames in their hands or their heads.

I think it looks really cool.

that's pretty awesome. The torch doesn't really work right now, at least for me, but if you paint it a bit better, maybe with some highlits, It'll come out really cool IMO.

Yeah, the torch isn't quite what I've envisioned yet. I picked up a few more blues to add to it and I still need to wash the handle as well. I'm kind of considering adding a few more colors to the flame... maybe greens? Not sure about that yet though as I'm pretty sure it would end up pulling eyes away from the red robe section of the model because as it is the red/blue balance out/ don't make you look at one or the other too greatly.

Actually, its 9 per squad + the overseer, with 3 squads as elite choices.

He looks ok but i'd say he would look better as an overseer instead of a psyker.

Has anybody tried sticking Catachan arms onto Flagellants to create Penal Legionaires? Think this would work quite well...

If catachan arms were not HORRIBLE it might work.

@Werdes: I'm using the model from the set that is holding up the proclamation board as my overseer.

I'm currently playing in a Calaxis sector fluff campaign on the chaos team. (Details and fluff at warsound.com) In the campaign I control Scintilla, the capitol world, and picked up the psykers from the slannesh cult that creates and harvests psykers there. The Proclamation will read, "Rejoice, for thou are true!" If anyone plays Dark heresy they will probably get the reference...

Kungfu, I've been doing the same thing with my flagellants, I.E. turning them into pyskers.

I found one thing that also works really well, is chopping off the entire handle of the torch leaving just the flame. Then taking one of the open palmed hands from the cadian sprue chopping it off at the wrist, reattaching it to the arm with greenstuff and then planting the fire inside the open palm, it gives the appearance of the miniature actually conjuring the flamer himself. Hope you find this helpful.

not a bad idea. I'll have to try that, or at least something similar, with my nxt box. Back to painting now bye!
