Hi
Me and my friends rediscovered Necromunda after too many years in oblivion which emedialtely evoked the modeling spirit in us all. I'm going to play a House Orlock gang for old times sake, however i find the models rather dull in their original appearance so i want to spice them up a little bit. As a game in a cyberpunk setting i personally think there is to little cyber about the punks.
So what I want to do is give this gang a sort of 80ies and 90ies cyberpunk look inspired by movies such as Bladerunner, Robocop, Alien 2, Terminator, Akira, AD-Police, Ghost In The Shell, Mad Max, Johnny Mnemonic and other movies alike. William Gibsons books are another great source of inspiration. I'm thinking goggles/cool sunglasses, respirators, wild hairstyles, unesseary shoulderpads, etc. I want them to have an air of "cybernetic fuckheadness".
Please fell free to criticize, i want suggestions on what to do and so on.
This will be my starting lineup, 1 leader, two heavies (heavy stubbers), 5 gangers (two with lasguns and three with autopistol and ccw) and 2 juves.

I would love your leader, or perhaps a ganger in a bright neon suit, wearing a large top hat.

Ok, looong time no see. I finally got some time and inspiration to continue modelling on my orlocks gang. So here are some new pics, I will try to post again quite soon.
Feedback is welcome.
First out is Cassidy, one of my gangers, his mohawk is supposed to be made of metal and is inspired by the Cat Rapes Dog (a Swedish cyber/electro-punk band and my childhood heroes) singers outfit in this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gqyZL4k-gFk
Next is Case another ganger, his spikes are not finished yet, also I'm thinking of giving him a leather jacket.
Ester aka dollface, a CC ganger, I'm trying to Orlockify her so she doesn't look so much like an Esher.
Miranda, one of my juves, will also be Orlockified, apart from the gas mask she will also get some armourplate on her shoulder.
Dwain, another of my juves, not much have happened since my last post, he just got a second knee pad and i consider him finished (unless someone got any good suggestions).

Some really nice work although I imagine they'd be to worried about the hair to actually fight......Equally after going to all that effort if an enemy ganger ruins the do it'd probably drive them into a maddened frenzy.......

"But me no buts! Our comrades get hurt. Our friends die. Falkenburg is a knight who swore an oath to serve the church and to defend the weak. He'd be the first to tell you to stop puling and start planning. Because what we are doing-at risk to ourselves-is what we have sworn to do. The West relies on us. It is a risk we take with pride. It is an oath we honour. Even when some soft southern burgher mutters about us, we know the reason he sleeps soft and comfortable, why his wife is able to complain about the price of cabbages as her most serious problem and why his children dare to throw dung and yell "Knot" when we pass. It's because we are what we are. For all our faults we stand for law and light.

Love your stuff BTW, but I'd love even more steampunkness, can never go wrong with loads of cablings and goggles, yes, goggles should be for everyone ^^,

Thanks!
Hehe, well a bucket of wallpaper glue (or whatever its called in english) or some gelatin will solve all their worries for at least a week. So unless they all make their hair on the same day they'll be ok (otherwise I guess they'll murder each other for a glimpse in the bathroom mirror).

I live in Karlskrona so I'm quite far away from STHLM I'm afraid.
I personally love goggles but since i want some variation i have kept my goggle modelling urge shackled so all models doesent end up with goggles.
Steampunk eeey? In what way?

Nice Wips c0un7_z3r0.
To bad for us that Sthlm is a little bit far away from us, otherwise we maybe would have some new pals to play necromunda with.
It would been very nice to play with new faces Müller.

For steampunk inspiration games like Fallout 3 and Bioshock are excellent to have a look at.
Combined with cyberpunk it can spawn some seriously interesting creations

Hmmm, the Fallout series has always been close to my heart so maby I'll do something along that line. Bioshock is fab as well and I'd compleately forgot about the Void range, I'll look into those as well and we'll see what happens, thanks for the tip!
But I just watched Akira and got some inspiration, so my next project will be a pilot/biker hat and goggles for Miranda, I'll get back as soon as i have anything to show!

It certanly is!
But I would definitely say that Akira is cyberpunk, one of the big classic cyberpunk works, as influential as William Gibsons books or Bladerunner (both the movie and the book "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep"), Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed etc.
Cyberpunk for me got as much to do with the world as the outfits of those that inhabits it, Gibsons heroes are usually kinda mundane when it comes to the appearance (exept for prehabs Molly and some others) but the world they live in isn't. The same goes for Deckard in Bladerunner, the world is more cyberpunkish than he is.
So I do think I know what you mean, the characters in Akira ain't very "cyber" they are just some kind of biker-punks. But then I discovered that peoples usually aren't very cyber in cyberpunk worlds. Of course there are plenty of those that are but it's more about the small details rather than big hi-tech weapons and cybernetic body parts.
And what i want to do with my gang is tho have a good balance of the two, these small details that gives you a feeling that they live in a cyberpunk world and hi-tech weapons, cybernetics, wierd hairstyles, goggles etc. both to emphasise each other in order to create a richer cyberpunk experience...
But far from all will look like cyborg cybergoths though.

This is precisely what I'm using for my rough riders in my IG army (although mine aren't standing astride their bikes - the bikes are the same).

Thanks for the feedback! It's nice to hear(read) that you like it!
I just started painting Dwain and is about half finished, I'll have to warn you all though, I'm not very good at painting.
I'm unfortunately a bit behind schedule with Mirandas biker/pilot-hat, there were some difficulties and I had to do it all over again since I vasn't satisfied...
