I just finished painting Skarbrand. I took the old Bloodthirster with the face option since it looked like it had "character". I just added bloodied nubs for wings to match his fluff. I also played around with barb-wire brass etching; that was fun. I think I may add more barb wire to my Khorne models in the future.

I used the Traitor Guard to test incorporating weathering techniques into my painting style.

I think orange / yellow hue on the hair of the blood thirster would make it look way better.

ATM its not mixing in with itself or the traitor guards :x

Blood looks great, so does the barb wires ( looks dangerous to touch! )

*i played around with his hair color:

Skarbrand is so intimidating that the traitor look scared in his wake!

One criticism: The red goggles of the traitors don't look very distinct against their red uniforms. Since the model is so bright, maybe going for darker eyes would contrast better (eg: similar technique on the eyes but with a black lense).

All said, good work!

edit: Perhaps make the gasmask darker and keep the bright red lenses.

About to eat your Avatar...

How did you make or attain the barbed wire, I was thinking of using some on my nurgle titan project. Info on this would be appreciated.

Citadel use to sell a brass etching that was originally sold by ForgeWorld. But they've stopped, I guess in favor of the Razor Wire which they do still sell.

ForgeWorld still sells the same barbed wire brass etching here: ForgeWorld Barbed Wire

And the Razor Wire here: Citadel Razor Wire

And here's a third party barbed wire, but I've never seen it in person: TheWarStore Barbed Wire

Probably somewhere I shouldn't be

It looks good, very imaginative - the only comment I have is about the barbed wire - can you shape it a bit more so that it reflects the movement of the model? At the moment it seems to be a bit all over the place. Other than that - very cool!

Sweet paintjob! I especially like the yellow rifles, oddly enough.

Blue would probably work as a good color for the gasmask lenses, methinks.
