Ok,your Death Guard and rhino arn't bad..but they need some work, mind if I ask what steps, colors, etc you used in painting them?

great job! I like the rust effect very gnarly and dirty

I basically drybrushed the entire thing other than the lava on the base which I blended (my first try at the style). The rust on the Infantry isn't drybrushed but the tank it is. I will be adding some boltgun metal to the rust effect on the tank to make it more metal looking.
Next up will be more infantry and a daemon prince conversion and hopefully a rhino/land raider!

I like the rust effect,I'd go real light with the Boltgun metal.
As far as the Death Guard mini,as I said not bad,but I would suggest doing somthing like this, paint all the armour with a dark basecoat ,heavy drybrush of the next color, ink wash, lighter drybrush of lighter color, ink wash, light drybrush & highlighting.
This process will add a bit more depth to you minis as they look a bit "flat" right now,but alternatly you could always use the same process your curently using and simply ink wash and lightly drybrushing and highlighting.
Stick with it man, your off to a good start.

What about a watered down wash on what I have now like some sort of green? I don't want it to be too noticeable... I like the "cleaner" nurgle effect I have going for. It does have some more depth than the photos show. But if a light wash would help then I a willing to do it since it doesn't take much time which is another get thing about this scheme. The base probably takes more time then the actual model but I wanted it to be like that lol.

A waterd down green would bring out some definition in your mini, just make sure to use a wash/ink and to do a bit of highlighting after your wash drys.
You may however want to try a brown wash (waterd down)as this will give the mini a dirtier look, try it on a test model and see if you like the effect.

Yes,I've seen Death Guard painted using a brown/green wash and the effect was pretty good overall,if you want I can PM some various "ground up" painting ideas to you.

I think they are off to a really good start!

In my opinion, adding some chipped paint on the bolter casings/chainswords and drilling out the barrels (may be difficult to do since they are likely metal) would improve the quality of the models greatly.

Alright...I'm gonna put my two cents in. You did an AMAZING job painting this stuff...but it just doesn't scream slannesh. When I look at these all I can think of his Nurgle, with the green and the dirty look.

Were these supposed tp be Slanneshy in any way? I didn't gather that from anything in the post. The subject line made me think there would be some Nurglle, some Slannesh.

Anywya, these definitely look good. There are some dudes with helmets that have trim above the eyes. I think you should paint that trim in the same gold/brass/copper as the other metal on the guys.

Also, I think you should really make use of some washes (as others have mentioned) because that heavy drybrushing makes the minis look a bit dusty or chalky.

Love the bases for two reasons: 1) you did a good job on them and, 2) the fact that you did them at all.

Looking good, still appear to need washes and a bit of highlight here and there, but very good.

Those are the death guard of the army I haven't started on the slaanesh side yet since I planning on doing some coversions for an Organ Rhino (counts as a rhino with havoc launcher) and a Sonic Cannon (counts as a Vindicator) as well as a squad of CSM debicated to slaanesh but not noice marines.

Thanks for the comments and keep them coming!!!

Really, really like the idea of using the Nightbringer as a Daemon Prince! Might have to pinch that idea!
Gives the whole Death Guard thing a much better feel than the regular Daemon Prince would.
Might see if my mate will sell me his!
