Hello!
Well, as the title suggests I will be posting modern soldiers that I will be doing up over the course of the next few weeks. The main game that I am building them for is Two Hour Wargames All Things Zombie.

This thread was created in response to the pics that I posted up for my test Digi Acu figure. Instead of constantly updateing that thread, I decided to make a P&M blog.
Please note that this is a work in progress thread. Unless noted otherwise all pics are of Non-Finished/painted figs.
The figures that I will be useing are from the Dogs Of War range. They used to be painted up in the old school green BDU's and I felt that it was time to take a break from
40k and change the pace a little bit by updateing these guys.
My first test fig:
Now since this was origionally painted, I have started to make changes on it as suggested in the other thread. Updated pics will be comming soon.
Lots of people asked me via forum and Pm how I did the pattern. Well, let me tell you... I spent a very long time online and could find hardly anything anywhere for painting Digi Acu's at 28mm scale. Here is how I did it.....
Find a old beat up tipped brush like thus.... More spread out the better.
Step 1:
Primer Model Black
Step 2:
Paint Basecoat Codex Grey
Step 3:
Find a lighter Grey (I used Fortress Grey) And tip the very end of the brush tips into it. Then practive dotting on something until you figure out how hard/what way you need to press to get a spotted pattern. Now do this over the Codex Grey. I found that rotateing the brush a quarter turn each press changed the pattern enough to prevent the "repeat" look.
*Note* At this time I had to move the pics inside cause it started to T-storm. Inside Lighting isnt that great so the pics didnt turn out as clear. Sorry
Step 4:
Find a slightly darker grey thats between the two and repeat the above. The paint I used the label has long since faded so i have no clue the color. It came with the Flames Of War German painting pack.... think its German Grey, but am unsure.
And there you have it. This paint job is to give the impression of a more complex camo pattern and I feel it pulls it off nicely. lets face it, unless you have tons of patience and mad skill, you are not going to paint hundreds of little squares on the 28mm model one at a time. From start to finish to include drying time between each step this took me about 30 min to paint. And I consider myself a slow painter. Its quick, easy to do, and with a little practice looks great.
I will be updateing this Topic as I finish each guy in my squad.
Thanks for stopping by! C&C welcome!
