Has anyone else been having a bad string of luck with the GW blisters?
I cannot express in words how angry it makes me to have to use Green Stuff because Gw's models are missing detail or don't fit to the point where I'm pretty sure they stepped on the blister before they put it in the shipping box.
I always try to look through the rack and find the best castings i can but you can't always see the other side or if things are of the proper angles..

Any way i have a giant middle finger pointed at England right now.

Metal models have never been, nor will they ever be, perfect. This is just something a hobbyist has to learn to deal with over time. Joins just don't line up, gaps are never smooth. Green stuff is a way of life for the multi-part metal model.

That being said, if detail is missing, ie a model is short-shot or something like that, take it back to where you got it. Any reliable business will gladly exchange defective product. I know for a fact, cause I've had to do it many-a-time, that GW will replace defective product any retailer sends them back for free, so there is no reason for whoever you got it from to not replace it.

There is an attitude that not having an insanely optimized, one shot, six stage, omnidirectional, inevitable, mousetrap of an assassin list army somehow means that you have foolishly wasted your life building 500 points of pure, 24 karat, hand rolled, fine, cuban fail. That attitude has been shown, under laboratory conditions, to cause cancer of the fun gland.

i will see if what they can to some time this week then. I threw a nerd fit after like 3 hours of working on a few of them and then put them in my bitz box and went back to painting my tac goons.

Also, you can try to call their Customer Service from the GW website. You may be surprised.

hmmmmm cant be worse then some of the new Forgeworld stuff... They just gotten sloppy... Great models with awsome detail but they almost NEVER fit together.... Ive learned to deal with it though and actually dont mind it at all

I would almost say i like it (not missing details cause ive never had that) But when they dont fit, it FORCES me to practice green stuff and it raises my skill...

Sorry, you're new to working on Forgeworld stuff, aren't you?

Depending on the kit, you'll need green stuff, two part epoxy, decent skills with sculpting, the FW number to get replacement parts, or a ton of experience from doing older model airplanes/armor kits.

The single piece stuff and alot of the figures go together brilliantly. The only issues I've ever had were with the hybrid plastic/resin kits, and that was just that I'd have to spend hours filing down a randomly placed bar of resin that shouldn't have been there.

Well, most vehicles ive boght from forgeworld, dreadnaughts, ork vehicles, etc, all fit together quite nicely... however im not sure if youve built any of their monsters(and im not sure on greater deamons)? But ive built both their spawns and if seen all the parts for the great chaos dragon my local gw is holding for me and they all had misfitting parts (nothing greenstuff cant fix tho), but ive never had missing parts either... I prolly should have specified more on that... My apologies.

My biggest problem has been with the FW rhino extra armor. I dont know what hatch they used to model it, but the plastic one from the kit sure never fits.

GW Metal stuff has gone really downhill lately, my GF has been complaining about it ever since the St. Celestine a friend got her for Christmas came with half the halo miscast and some of the "spikes" not even there on the piece. I think they're just getting lazy about replacing worn out moulds, or not having their QC people check so thoroughly? I noticed that brand new minis tend to be doing better than slightly older ones, the 2009 Games Day Mini is basically perfect.

Incidentally, didn't GW move their mini production out to the US a few years ago?

I wasn't aware they ever had a factory here. But it seems to be that way because my Sgt. Telion mini was almost perfect(just opened it) the rest of them..not so much..

I refuse to buy anything metal nowadays because of my bad luck in the past. I always managed to get replacements but it's just the hassle of it I would rather avoid.

About to eat your Avatar...

Check the blister before you buy it.

I have actually heard VERY good things about GW customer service, so I wouldn't be surprised if they resolved issues like this all the time. If they annoy you that much, I would just stop buying them, and start to convert some stuff from plastic.
