I'm trying to gather up some possible ideas for base models for three Tzeentch Daemon Princes. I'd like to use the same model or similar models as a base for all three Princes. So far I've got:

Thagrosh the Messiah
Be'Lakor

Anyone have any good ideas? I'd rather not use the stock GW Daemon Prince if I can help it.

If that upsets your fluff stomach, buy a case of "it's just a game"-bizmo and get over it.

Tomb Kings Ushabti with the bird head are a nice fit and if you aren't adding wings you really don't need to do much to them.

Sorry, Im a big fan of tzeen Dp - although when you would ever use three...

I have one - here:

(sorry, Im aways posting this).

In any case, inquisitor sized models are perfect. Add the right sort of helm, and you can just about use any of them (ordered from GW direct).

You could use the one I did Magus (chaos marine), and the Artemis model (regular marine) and the Inquisitor model in there - for all proportionate sized male DP models.

once youve done them, be sure to post pics.

That's so funny Delemon--As soon as I posted this I started looking through all of the Fantasy armies stuff and I saw the Ushtabi--They do look good Still collecting ideas though!

Nice Darkkt--The modeel looks good. I'm trying to stay away from any of the Space Marine iconography but I'll definitely look at the range.

I would second the using of Inquisitor models - I have seen that done many, many, many times and it invariably looks good. Use of a model in power armor is superb for a 40K Daemon Prince, because it shows where the model came from.

And, interestingly enough, I have Inquisition models on eBay right now - links to auctions in my profile! This would be cheaper than GW direct.

Well the issue is that I'm doing 3x of them, so I need to have a model that I can use as a base but also modify so that they all fit together.

Any other suggestions?

Well, it may not be released for a while, but they are working on a daemon prince plastic kit that supposedly has swappable heads, and markings/addons for each chaos god. There are rumors it could come out before the end of the year (ie a christmas release) but who knows. Pics:

So if you don't need these models right away, there is a good solution coming sometime in the future.

Doing so might look good, but it is not allowed for GW tournaments or conversion/modelling/painting contests. New line has an agreement with GW that they will not encourage/allow players to mix pieces from their sets to make lotr models or GW models for any of their contests(ie taking a legolas model and adding wood elf parts , or taking a wood elf model and adding legolas parts)

LoTR Trolls work very well:

If you can find a Vermin Lord (old Skaven Daemon), they look great as well:

Strange then that my GW has suggested the I use Saraun(SP?) as a base for a WoC Lord and the Balrog for a Daemon Prince.

To clarify, GW doesn't mind you using LoTR models as conversion pieces between games, but cannot photograph/promote the models you have used in that manner.
