Ok. So I’ve been playing 40k for quite some time now, but I have yet to play a game of 5th in which my elder opponent uses a lot of psychic powers. So I just thought I would have a few questions answered before I get to into my idear of an elder army… also got a few question on other things as well.

Ok….

1. As I understand it, I may cast fortune, guide, and doom from inside a tank, at the start of my turn, before I move… measuring from the tanks hull

Time for a bit of rules lawyering

2. May I cast guide or fortune on my own tanks, such as prisms or a war walkers?
3. If a fire prism is shaken or stunned, may it link up with another prism?

I’m not sure about casting guide or fortune on my own tanks… because of the wording in the power description… says “Unit type” and the entry of the tanks have them listed as “Type” while it lists guardians as “Unit type”... personaly i think i can, but i know i will run into TFG and he will say something about it.

The plan would be to wall up serpents protecting fire prisms, then use a farseer and Eldrad to cast fortune on all 3 so they can reroll that 4+ cover save… terrain would work just as good, as long as they get a cover save, and have a seer within the distance.

As for Guide… well, guiding a unit of 3 war-walkers with 6 scatter lasers would just be nasty.

The prisms I am afraid I already know the answer to … they have to forfeit their shooting in order to link, so if they can’t shoot then they can’t link… I am just wishing it could be lawyerd the other way

Vectored engines stop the vehicle from getting immobilized, does this mean I may drive away next turn?

Nothing currently, got out of the hobby, maybe getting back in?

correction

Vectored engines stop the vehicle from getting destroyed by immobilized when going fast. It is still immobilized.

it also cannot use star engines to move 12" in the shooting phase, if it is immobilized

If the vehicle would crash due to being immobilized, it instead makes a forced landing as though it had not moved that turn. p44 of the codex.

Could you try to explain it a little better because I still don't understand.

Read the rules for what happens to Immobilised fast moving skimmers (Bottom left Paragraph of page 71 in the Rulebook).
Then read the vectored engine rules.

That should clear it up.

Normally when a fast skimmer is moving over 12" and suffers an Immobilized damage result, it would be Destroyed.

The Vectored Engines upgrade says that a fast skimmer moving over 12" is not Destroyed if it suffers an Immobilized damage result, it simply is Immobilized.
