On the Devastator sprue there are 4 (2 x 2) of those funny skull+tentacles/wires things. I've seen them in some GW paintings, but I've never seen them on any pictures of actual models, and there is no reference on the box or the instructions inside.
Has anyone used them, if so how do you fit them? - they look too fragile for actually using on the table.

They are called 'servo skulls' and they look nice.
Fit them howsoever you like.
That is all.

Those servo skulls,You'll find them in the fluff.

I am not sure if the "manual" shows a way to attach them to the models or if theyre shown on the built and painted examples on the box.

Thanks for the name, but I'd still like to see an actual example of how they're used - there isn't one on the box - does anyone have a link?

Edit: found one here (now I knew what to search for):

I attached one of mine with wire to a base & used it as an objective maker. If I get a chance(and remember) when I get home, I'll take a pic.

They make great adornments flying around characters, dreadnoughts, etc. Using them for objective markers is also a great idea.

Thanks everyone.

@Xanthos - like your idea. I'm worried about how fragile they seem, but putting it close to the base looks safer.

Sorry for the delay, but here are the pictures of the servo skull I promised. I mounted it onto a stiff piece of wire and glued a narrow strip of heavy duty aluminum foil in front.
