Simple question: Where can I find bats and wrenches to use as close combat weapons for Space Marines?

I plan on building a small (1k) Angry Marines force using the Space Wolves codex. I need to either a) learn how to easily sculpt bats, wrenches, clubs and other such brutish tools or b) find a miniature company that already does. Any suggestion?

My friend has almost 3000pts. of Angry Marines, and he uses the "official" 4chan codex. He might actually have the biggest Angry Marine army out there, who knows.

Anyway, he just used GreenStuff and the like to sculpt weapons for the most part. I also gave him a bunch of 40k and Fantasy Ork weapons, which look brutal enough, especially the cleavers and spiked maces. The real key to making good Astartes Hostilitas is just to never be afraid of being ridiculous, as long as it's also awesome. Some of his Cock Knockers (CQC specialists) wield barstools and folding chairs made out of GreenStuff and plastic coffee stirrers. Just be creative and always on the lookout for little toys you can loot (just like modeling Orks, really),

Bear in mind that I'm a very casual player, and any advice I give will reflect that tendency.

Check out the Lego website for some of those items, they're almost the same scale - not so much that it will look funny anyway.

What harm can it do to find out? It's a question that left bruises down the centuries, even more than "It can't hurt if I only take one" and "It's all right if you only do it standing up." Terry Pratchett, Making Money

"Can a magician kill a man by magic?" Lord Wellington asked Strange. Strange frowned. He seemed to dislike the question. "I suppose a magician might," he admitted, "but a gentleman never could." Susanna Clarke Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell

The Ork Warbikers come with a lead pipe with a nail through it, a chain, and a pipe with bolts on it that would make great weapons for these guys.

Check the Hasslefree website (http://www.hasslefreeminiatures.co.uk/).

He has, I believe, some sprues with bats, hockey sticks, and misc items to use as CCWs.

Check out the hockey sticks, and the zombie hunter weapons. I'd so like to see you make a marine wielding a cricket bat

I order mine from Rattlehead Games in the US.

Legio Suturvora 2000 points (painted)

Perfect! You're the best! Also, I think I'll be using that 'barstools & folding chairs' idea too. Now where to find barstools? lol

New Question:

What should I use to count-as Thunderwolf Calvary? I cannot think of anything extremely "Angry Marines" in the mount choices I've come up with (Cold Ones, Jurassic Park raptors, etc).

Gentlemen,

Can anyone tell me how well or terribly Ork Shoota arms match up with Space Marine torsos? I'm considering using Ork weapons for my Angry Marines but not sure whether to just use the gun or the whole arms as well. Thoughts?

Secondly, would you play a player who uses Marines riding rockets as Thunderwolf Calvary?

Lego, yes.

Cardboard cut to wrench-shape and coated in superglue work well, would be a good wrench.

Bats, i presume you meen a baseball bat or similar, would be Wier and Greenstuff.
Or, for bats, you may want to file Sprue into the right shape.

When you call an intimate moment with your partner "the Assault Phase"

Is that followed by a pile-in move?

That brings a whole new meaning to the term "Hit and Run"

Can that be following a deep strike, or do you have to wait until the next round?

tblock1984, I don't have any pictures of them on this computer, but I will direct my friend to this thread so he can post some things.

Bear in mind that I'm a very casual player, and any advice I give will reflect that tendency.

As far as Thunderwolves go... raptors and coldones arent ostentatious enough. Try T-Rexs' or Carnosaurs, or perhaps octopi. That would be cool, or GIANT SQUID!!! soo... ANGRY!!!! OR!! make them riding a bunch of Hulks. Nothing is angrier than the Hulk. OMFG that is so badass... I can wait to see some angry marines riding hulks.

Yo, this is the guy who alanedomain was talking about. And he was incorrect, I actually have right at around 4000 points. My tip? Greenstuff. It's what I use for just about every special weapon.

This is a picture of some of what I have from a while back. I don't have all of my stuff painted. To the back are my two Belligerent Engines. To the right is the unfinished Predator Angrinator (it's done now). I don't have my slurry of drop pods in there, though.

Egads, Boman, that picture makes your stuff look horrendously painted.

His paints are much better than that in person, I swear.

Yeah, tragically, I don't have any camera that doesn't add horrific amounts of grain. Main reason I almost never put any pictures up.
