If you want to make space marines look orky.
I would use the ork legs, arms and head.
Use the space marine shoulder pads and chest.
Then your choice to either use bit to make them look more imperial or orky or maybe a little bit of both.

My idea for Ork Space Marines is use WHFB Black Orcs with marine weapons that have been orkarised. For scouts, I thought of using feral orcs but the fact that ferals are all metal, I am reworking that idea.

628th Praetorian Guard Cohort (wife's army)
827th Auxilia Cohort (ad mech fun)
825th Foderati Cohort (in the beginning army)
1212th Foederati Cohort - Jokaero (cause I like apes with guns)

no I meant actual space marines that have changed sides, then again that sounds really awesome, you could buy the ork and space marine mini-sets and convert those...

Why would space marines change sides to work for orks, a race that despises them and would murder them at the first opportunity?

Hurm... I seem a bit confused.

EDIT: I am no longer confused. Hehe, I was the first to reply, but had a meeting and walked away for a while. When I finally clicked Submit, I found that I had missed a bit... See my second comment.

Do you mean Orks masquerading as space marines? If so, that is awesome! I am doing something slightly similar as soon as my pauldrons arrive. Well, I am doing looted armor, not a whole army themed on orks in spesh mareenz armor. That would be interesting...

If you mean space marines that behave in a rather orky manner, then I would recommend Chaos. I think the chaotic nature of the "'umie orks" would fit in with chaos nicely, and that would echo your "traitor" theory. But truth be told, I don't know gak about chaos...

Maybe the Orks were extra cunning and smart (and had millions of boyz and grotz to spare) to capture a handful (literally 5-10) marines - just for the amusement of their warlord who was petitioned (in the most orky fashion) by a cohort of oddboyz (dokz and mekz ...).

So after bonking the heads of the marine-boyz they did the infamous Squig Brain Implant on the marines to make them their own crazy machines of war.

Use them as a squad of killa kanz - since the orks would go about 'upgrading' the marines with extra armour, more dakka ... dakka dakka dakka!!!

Nope. Im open to many ideas that are just WAY out there.... but this just WOULD NOT HAPPEN. No Space Marine would EVER leave the Imperium to join up with the Orks. Even IF that happened...... like MGS said, the Orks would just kill them. Thats what Orks do. They kill everything that isnt Orky, then they kill the other Orks.

I can see a marine chapter having a horrific geneseed technology accident and then slowly going feral over several centuries, getting stupider and more low-tech, naturally shunned by proper marines, until they eventually vaguely resemble orks in technology and fighting style - especially if they share local space with orks and constantly fight them and loot from them.

Presuming you want to use Marine models to count-as orks, that would seem reasonable. With a lot of modelling and conversion work (and 'looting' lots of ork bits), it could look great.
