I wouldn't outflank the Kroot for a gunline. I would use them to counter charge units that are about to charge into your gunline. Some Pathfinders would help alot to up your BS and hit more shots.

You can drop both commaders for Shadowsun for the boost in leadership. If a unit falls back join the commander to it and roll to regroup since there is a bonding knife on the commander. I'm not sure how well this tactic would work but it seems like it would be fun.

You can't use Shadowsun for your only HQ. You have to use a Crisis suit commander.

I think it will be an interesting army to play with or against, however the general metagame says mechanised armies are better.

You may find your most viable tactic is to castle up with the Broadsides in the centre and hope the enemy come to you. There are lots of situations where that won't work, and you will get badly punished by artillery, or flanking or drop podding assaulters.

Under the rules for Shadowsun she counts as the 1+ Firecaste commander you must take. Therefore you can have her as your only commander and still be in accordance with the rules. For Farsight this is not true but I believe there was an FAQ released that cleared this up that he counts as well - This I'm not sure of.
