Okay FOR THE PLAYERS! Your roles have been sent to you via PM. All roles were decided by me via a few dice rolls and were completely random. I will verify that there is at least one pro-town role (like an Inquisitor or Doctor) and that there are two Genestealers in your midst.

Rules

Votes

1) Votes must be in bold, if you do not bold your vote it will not be counted. This is a good vote - Vote: Gwar! this is a not good vote - Vote:Gwar!.

2) Please unvote if necessary before casting a new vote, it makes counting them much easier. (you are allowed to unvote as many times as you wish during a day cycle, so feel free to keep shifting your vote around as your suspicions change)

3) Lynching will require a simple majority of votes. Once a player has reached the necessary majority, their pleas are useless and any attempts to unvote will be unheeded. Thus, as soon as any player has a majority vote that player will be lynched and all subsequent voting does not count. Feel free to post other thoughts while waiting for the lynch scene if you desire. With 7 alive 4 votes are required to lynch. With 3 alive, 2 votes would be required. Ect. ect.

4) You may vote: no lynch. If No Lynch is the majority votes at any time then the day will end with no lynch and move on to the night phase.

5) Vote counts will be tabulated and posted by me at semi-regular intervals or when requested.

Deadlines

1) I will be enforcing a fixed three week Day Phase deadline. All Night Phases have a 72 hour deadline. Deadlines will be counted from the Moderator (my) story posts that will initiate each day and night phase.

2) At the three week deadline lynching will require the same number of votes as usual, if this number is not reached the day will end 'no lynch'.

3) If you have a night choice to make, it is due by the posted deadline. I will not wait for you. If you do not submit a choice to me then nothing will happen... at all... not even a little bit.

Posting

1) The game is not to be discussed outside the thread unless your role specifically states that you may do so – and then only at night. Honor system is in effect.

2) Once your death scene has been posted, you’re dead. Stop typing. A single “Bah, you fools!” type post is allowable, but no more please.

3) No small or invisible text. Don’t edit/delete previously submitted posts either. Secret codes worked into your regular text are allowable. Going back and editing a post may be grounds for disqualification from the game based on my whim.

4) Don’t quote any PMs from me. If you do, I will be most unhappy. Do not metagame by using any part of role PMs to figure out what roles others may or may not have (i.e. 'everyone post the third letter from the second line of their role PM') Any such metagame activity will result in a modkill (in other words, I'll declare you dead and the game will move to the next phase)

5) If you anticipate being unavailable for more than 3 days, please post a notice to that effect in the thread. Treat this game as a commitment. Be considerate – don’t leave us hanging.

6) Game Mods are human (allegedly), if I make a mistake please PM me I will rectify the mistake as soon as I can.

7) Please bold anything you want me to see.. Also, please try to avoid bolding anything else to ensure I DO see the ones I need to.

Prods aka 'That guy hasn't posted in a while'

1)A player will get prodded if they have been inactive for three days.

2)Weekends count as one day. (ie If your last post is on a Thursday you will not be prodded till the Monday following)

3) If you do not pick up your prod/post in game within 48 hours of it being sent I will start to look for a replacement.

4) Please post in game if you are going to be unavailable for more than 48 hours.

Misc

Remember, it’s a game and it’s supposed to be fun. Be nice to your fellow players.

If you have a problem in game please PM me to discuss it.

The rules etc can and will be edited at any point if I deem it necessary.

Breaking the rules can be bad for your health, I reserve the right to modkill for serious/repeated naughtiness.

First Story Post - start of Day 1 - start of three week timer
==============================================================================

Captain Dea Dmeat of the Holy Imperial Navy stepped out of the pilot's cabin to regard the fifteen of you.

"We're about ready to make the jump into the Warp," she announced grimly. "I suggest you all strap in and I hope you really enjoyed your lunches because there's a pretty good chance you'll be tasting them again." She laughed merrily at her own joke. "In any case, we should be arriving at Holy Terra soon enough."

You had all paid quite a bit of money (for some of you almost your whole life savings) in order to earn a spot on this glorious pilgrimage vessel. You would be traveling to the heart of enlightenment itself, you were going to be arriving in a few short days at Holy Terra, there to see the places where the God Emperor of Mankind had actually strode across now sacred ground. You would have a chance to see the amazing glory of the Imperial Palace, home of the Astronomicon and the shining beacon of hope and glory within this accursed universe. The crossing over into Warp Space is horrible indeed and you regret having to eat the stale ration bar that you had been provided. Still, your belief in the glory of the Emperor allows you to swallow back the dark urgings of inner sickness (Nurgle sent, no doubt) and soon the strange sensations mostly pass to leave you with the cold certainty that you are within the Warp and only the Light of The Emperor can guide you to Terra now. As you fall asleep your mind is filled with the glories and wonders soon to be made manifest before your eyes, and a relaxed assuredness in Captain Dea Dmeat, for she has performed this journey hundreds of times, as long as she is alive you suspect you will have nothing to fear...

Captain Dea Dmeat is quite dead. During the night someone hot wired the cabin doors and assaulted her. Investigating the body you realize she was attacked by two assailants. It appears clear to you all that there are some heretics amongst you. Thankfully the ship is on autopilot at the moment, and the Astropath is safe within the reinforced anti-gravity chamber from which he guides the ship. You reassure yourselves the Geller field is actiive and strong and then all quietly regard each other.

This vessel is headed for Holy Terra and there is the taint of the mutant aboard it. Clearly you have to agree who the culprit(s) are and purge them with fire (because purging with fire in a space ship with a recycled and controlled oxygen supply is a good idea).

It is Day 1, with fifteen alive it will take eight to lynch.

Silence only plays into the hands of fear, and fear leaves one open to the heretic.

It does appear that there is only 2 outcomes to this situation, either we purge the heretics and make it to Holy Terra, or the heretics overwhelm us, and this vessel is engulfed in cleansing fire before reaching its destination. The Emperor will see to it; the heretics are the ones who need to be afraid.

Wretched heretics! Do they seek to defile even holy Terra itself? What utter foolishness! I did not scrimp and save these past decades, sacrificing all that I had, so as to finally lay eyes upon His Divine Majesty's shining palace alongside of such repugnant company. The matter must be settled before we reach our sacred destination. The scum cannot be allowed to set so much as one foot upon that hallowed ground. I suggest we all get everything out into the open. In my own extensive experience, the quiet ones are to be tortured first.

Hasty words my friend, while you seem to have gained the beloved Emperor's leadership skill, you lack His Divine Majesty's heart.

[Interjection] There are many things you could fail in Loss, regardless of The Emperor's Attention or not.

[correction] what you logically mean is failure here is fatal to your lifesigns.

[conclusion] so it is not a fear of failing the Emperor, but a fear in your own mortality, or to be more precise, the ending of ones mortality.

...

[secondary conclusion] judging by pupil dialation, sweat patterns and humidity of the air around you I would surmise that it is fear you are all feeling, and quite correctly. But is it fear of death...or fear of discovery.

I do not fear death Dark Lord Seanron! I fear that we will never reach beloved Terra.....I fear that I will never gaze upon the His Divine Majesty's palace, I fear that I shall never enter The Holy Church's of Terra, I fear that I shall not step, were once the Holy Emperor stepped.

Yammering on like a typical cogboy. I've seen a few of your kind get their gears stripped in the underhive by chemers hardly out of their nappies for running off at the vox like that. Even so, he has a point. Failing the Emperor in this is a death sentence, to be sure. But what's a tech-priest doing headed for Terra? Don't your lot have their own shrine hidden away in some factory on Mars?

[amusement] If by lot, you mean the Holy Body of The Church Mechanicus, then yes, there are other shrines in the universe.

[correction] I go to visit the resting place and home of the Omnissiah

No experience with heresy, Gornall, just an old hiveboy turned Arbitor. I've skinned a few of the sheepish ones to get them talking is all I mean. As for me, I'm going to Terra because I've seen the light. I'm sick and tired of dealing with scummers who damn themselves with every breath, consigning their souls to the warp for a crate of amsec or a lot less. ::makes the sign of the Aquila:: I started listening hard to the priests, praying to the Emperor every day and night. So I gave it all up for Him, to come to Terra and gaze on His glorious palace. So you can see why I am not willing to share this ride with a pack of nasties, whether xenos or mutant or heretic or--most likely--all three.

[query] Subject Manchu: how is it you have come to be aboard this blessed machine?

[analysis] If you are aboard this holy vessel, then it leads to the deduction that your financial resources must be vast indeed?

[conclusion] how could you have seen {loading euphamism} 'my lot' in an Underhive? Logic dictates that only the poorest of individuals reside in the deepest parts of thos fine structures. [end enquiry]

No, not even ten rotations worth would cut it. But I've been saving, as I said, for these past decades because I knew there must be more to my life than throwing lowlifes into the dungeon. Looks like the Emperor has one more beat for me to walk, however, but this time we'll skip the cells and go right to the execution. And don't think that I'm-just-an-innocent-cogitator act will work on me, cogboy. There's still flesh and bone in there to be corrupted.

*edit* OOC: Don't be afraid of getting into character, guys. It really makes things more interesting and gives us more to base our voting on than just screaming "You're the genestealer!!!" Unless you don't want us to have more to go on . . . you genestealer!!!

[corection] I simply postualted that an arbiters credit accumulation rate, coupled with various external factors, it would take a time period of at least 9.25 Terran Cycles to accumulate the neccesary funds to finance such a voyage.

[further correction] there was no accusation in my tone, I simply stated a logical conclusion with all available data.

Even moreso, how did these heretical xenos mutants pass through into the Most Holy chapel to the God-Emperor and Saviour of mankind that is this ship? Faith is our greatest defence, is it not? These cultists must be powerful indeed... (clutches imperial icon on chain around neck)

Manchu, you say you have worked in the Most Holy God Emperor and Saviour of mankind's holy Adeptus Arbites. Have you ever seen a thing such as this during your work?

[corection] I simply postualted that an arbiters credit accumulation rate, coupled with various external factors, it would take a time period of at least 9.25 Terran Cycles to accumulate the neccesary funds to finance such a voyage.

[further correction] there was no accusation in my tone, I simply stated a logical conclusion with all available data.

[suspision] i do however, find your sibilance toward Manchu questionable...are you familiar with each other beyond these circumstances.

*in an exasperated/frustrated tone* Anyone else for shooting the robot? At best, the word games are not helping us to root out the evil in our midst and at worst they are a deliberate tactic to prevent us from discovering the heretics.

As for my "sibilance towards Manchu", all I know of him is that so far he seems to be the only other person willing to try to uproot this heresy around us rather than cower in fear (*Points at Mekboy and Valhallan*) or babble incoherent machine-speak. (*Once again points at DarkLordSeanRon*).

Gornall, you seem very eager to accuse others of Heresy against the God-Emperor and Savior of Mankind. Maybe you are a member of this perdiferous alien cult?
As for me not attempting to uproot this heresy, you seem not to be too keen to do so as well. Maybe this is another sign of you being part of this alien cult. Either way, my faith in the Emperor will protect me against you alien scum.
