After eyeballing the AOBR warboss for a few days planning things out in my head, I jumped in and slapped this guy together. Hes still a WIP, but Im really just down to some smoothing and gap filling now as the main structural components are where I want them.

Im happy to show you....Warboss Gutcrusha IN MEGA-ARMOR!!!!

Im no GD contender, but Im always looking for constructive criticism or comments. Please let me know what you think of him.

Edit: Wow, these photos reallt bring out all the stuff I need to fix on him.

It could be worse, you could be on fire.

That's dead killy, but I'd remove the chainblade from the PK. It looks really out-of-place, and the unmodified PK would be better IMO.

People are like dice, a certain Frenchman said that. You throw yourself in the direction of your own choosing. People are free because they can do that. Everyone's circumstances are different, but no matter how small the choice, at the very least, you can throw yourself. It's not chance or fate. It's the choice you made.

I love it! Especially the barbed wire! Will he be a Ghaz count as or a mega-armor boss?

The Seraphs of Thunder: a homebrew, almost entirely converted successor Deathwing. And also some Orks. And whatever else I have lying around.

Im thinking about that. It didnt turn out exactly as I wanted, but I certainly want him to have something with a bit more 'snip' than the squad of nobz he'll be running around with.

forrestfire wrote:I love it! Especially the barbed wire! Will he be a Ghaz count as or a mega-armor boss?

Just a Mega-armor Boss. Ill have a Ghaz on hand round xmas time, but I need something less expensive points wise for the smaller lists my friends and I usually play.

It turns out that a warboss with PK, TL shoota, Eavy armor, Attack Squig, Bosspole and Cybork body is only 5 pts less than a similarly equipped Mega armored warboss. So, I decided I needed one.

Nice work.

I would recommend slightly thicker soles on the boots, and maybe some more armour plating around the legs and buttocks, so that the leg struts have something to actually attach to, instead of being glued to the outside of his trousers.

But otherwise, dead killy.

Of course, as an American, that means I must say that soccer sucks, and football (real football... you know, the one where you do everything with your hands) is 10,000 times as good. I mean, football players could probably beat up soccer players, even, because they actually know sports.

I really like your bosspole, consider the idea thiefed!

Otherwise, I agree with insaniak, he does need some more leg/butt armor, but otherwise looks great!

WAAAGH to orks!

More work done to him today!

I thickened the foot plates and connected the leg pistons. Also, added some armor to lower back. Rivets everywhere.

No amount of trolling is gonna keep Gutcrusha and his nobz from snipping up your marines, Hippy.

Nicely executed conversion. I don't think the pole with the barbed wire really adds to the miniature, but aside from that, great stuff

Last night, this warboss led his first excursion against the Ultramarines.

I predicted correctly.

Warboss Gutcrushas battle wagon deth-rolled an entire scout squad, then was promptly blown up by a dreadnought. So, he and his bodyguard of three meganobz jumped out and hit a razorback full of sterngaurd like a freight train. No losses.

He then proceeded to wade through a hail of assault cannon fire to open said dreadnought like a can of tunafish.

I love my new warboss.

Pretty sure it was the combi-melta from the sternguard that did your battle wagon in... Hey and don't forget to tell them how bad my dice roles where...!

Umph, bad dice rolls can make a well laid out plan turn to mush. I hate bad dice roll nights, but they make for some funny memories.

Oh yea, when you getting some paint on your boss?

Oh and I had a plan to take care of all of it too... I think I ended up taking out a truck, a battle wagon, a couple nobz, and a dozen boys, oh yeah and a bike... And he destroyed my entire army. 1500pts worth of marines...

Yea a mega boss and pals can be a real ass kicker. You need more bullets, and to stay away from his heavy hitters. Pick and choose man.

Hippy DID have an incredibly rough night of rolling.

Tactic really had nothing to do with that loss. It was agreeably all bad dice.

You should burn those and buy new ones.

I have a bit of paint on him already, but Im not the greatest painter by far. Ill get a pic or two of him up tomorrow if I can.

He honestly tried to pick and choose, but the dice gods frowned upon him so intensely that even the low priority targets (boyz squad over say...a battlewagon full of lootas) managed to get stuck in and do their worst.

Sounds good! The faster you get pics up, the faster DAKITES will tell you how to fix it lol. Have tough skin and youll learn some tricks to improve your painting.

On the game, I bet it was all dice. Ive seen games just goto poop from bad rolling. One game I played against my oldest brother he literally rolled 6 1s for saves. Naturally I shouted YAHTZEE and I thought it was funny. That was the greatest shooting phase Ive had playing Orks. The best part was, after that, I charged his squad

Hippy, get your self a Vindicator and more template weapons. Get some rocket launchers as well. They are cheap, and very versatile. When I played SM/chaos, I used to take a devastator/havoc squad with just rocket launchers. My brother takes one in his tactical squads, and just sits there shooting. Orks take heavy losses getting shot like that

Ugh. He usually takes a 4 missile launcher Dev squad that makes my nether regions ache.

They killed my stompa in one round of shooting once. :(
