The game is based around deception, detection, and some other 'd' word that is applicable but which I cannot think of to continue the alliteration. It is a game of logic, psychology, and bluffs where the clever can sniff out the truth (or obscure it) and the foolish are left swinging at the end of a lynch rope.

A group of players (Imperial Citizens) are in trouble for amongst them, pretending to be normal citizens, is one or more members of a vile group out to kill them (Genestealer Cultists, egads!). The game is split into two parts; a day and a night cycle.

During the day the Imperial Citizens have to talk amongst themselves to see if they can figure out who is innocent and who is a lying scum heretic and mutant. They do this by asking questions, looking for suspicious behavior or voting patterns, and casting votes against those they suspect. The day cycle ends when a plurality is reached and they decide to lynch one of the players. That player is killed and his identity (Citizen or Genestealer Cultist) is revealed to the other players.

At Night the Genestealer Cultists may secretly discuss (PM) their plot and send to the game moderator their decision of who amongst the innocent to kill. The town awakens to find their dead friend and the day cycle begins anew.

The Imperial Citizens win if they manage to kill all of the Cultists so that only Citizens are left alive. The Genestealer Cultists win once they kill all the Citizens (or begin a day cycle with an identical or greater number of Cultists to Citizens whereupon statistically they cannot lose.)

To aid the Imperial Citizens they may have amongst them an Imperial Inquisitor (equivalent to Mafia's cop) who is capable every night of investigating one player and learning whether they are a Citizen of Cultist. Or perhaps a Doctor, who each night can select to protect a character from being killed if the Cult targets them. Many other possible roles exist, and as games get larger there can become some interesting roles to be found. All roles, from regular Citizen to Cultist and everything in between is assigned randomly by the game moderator to the players.

However, to differentiate mine from Thor665s I'm also going to throw random events into the mix to shake things up. Also, I'm going to have my own impartial character, to operate voting things, and take notes on how things are going and the like.

I'll toss my hat in the ring. I'm mildly intrigued and frightened by the random events aspect, but am willing to stumble through with the rest of you.
