Looking great only sugestion is try using low gage guitar string, as the cables idea is great but those are a tad to big. Look forward though to seeing what you do with him.

 Space Marines are ungodly ostentatious! It is about time they actually had something useful that stood out.
I say, go for the cables as is. I like the clear insulated copper wire look!

Not sure about the pack. Eager to see how paint carries this off though.
Edit: So I suppose I should have waited a few more minutes. 
Paint makes a world of difference, but the motion on the cables seems a little uncanny to me - like a marionette fighting its strings. Weathering on the exposed cabling is a great touch though.

It's a nice attempt, but the jump pack looks nothing like a jump pack (it's just two CSM backpacks on top of another), and the cables look WAY too big.
I would use small-guage guitar string, and a normal jump pack. Because right now, he looks like he is being mauled by an irate octopus.
